Description

Mason Hopkins is living the dream as a high-profile NHL rookie, but his excitement turns to ice-cold frustration when he discovers his new teammate is none other than Jett Jarvis. Jett is everything Mason hates: arrogant, intense, and, according to a lingering gut feeling, the mystery man who ghosted him on a hookup app. With a chip on his shoulder and a determination to expose Jett’s true colors, Mason sets out to push his rival until he finally snaps. Jett, however, is guarding a secret far more volatile than a locker room grudge. To him, the outspoken and charming Mason is a dangerous distraction who threatens to unravel the carefully constructed walls Jett has built around his life. He wants to keep his distance, but every heated confrontation and accidental brush of skin on the ice blurs the line between animosity and undeniable desire. As they trade barbs and escalating tension, the rivalry begins to melt into a combustible attraction. In the high-stakes world of professional hockey, Mason and Jett must navigate their growing connection while confronting the shadows of their pasts. With the threat of exposure looming, can they find a way to win at love, or will they crash on the ice?

Teammate Bonding

Mason and Jett were electric together both on and off the ice. It was hilarious watching Mason try to root out Jett's sexuality. He was over the top, but also able to read when he should back off. I was glad when they finally got together and Jett was able to open up. He desperately needed someone to be there for him. They have the cutest relationship and Jett fell in so easily with the Squad. I massively dislike Boyd. He is a horrible human being and Jett is a better person than I. I loved watching Jett and his father bond. Can't wait for Ace's story.

Rivals to all the sweet love

Amazing narration! Mason and Jett are super sweet. watching them come together in secret and melt for one another. Mason does his fare share of show boating and poking at Jett but quickly learns that Jett has a reason for being how he is. Mason is hard on Jett thinking he can give him a hard time initiation but quickly looses steam and realizes Jett is so much more then meets the eyes. I Love rivals to lovers! Super sweet moments but still get all the tension and action!

The fact you used my Dallas Stars as the melon in this book was not my favorite, but I did enjoy the book.

Slow start but solid story

The first two chapters were slow starting, but it picked up and ran from there. I adored the love story.

Jett❤️Mason

3.5⭐️ I love hockey romance and this one has a lot going for it. I think the author has done quite an impressive job with the world building. I also like that Mason is just starting out in professional hockey, with the unique challenges of maneuvering from college to the real world. I did find Mason quite tedious early on, he so cocky which was off putting for me. Thankfully, as the story progresses you do get to see some more attractive sides of his personality, like his protective instincts and his loyalty to his people. The team vibes are also excellent, plus I loved the support Jett finds with the Coyotes. I wasn’t a fan of the evil stepmother part of the plot with Eleanor and Jett’s dad. Eleanor is gross and Jett’s dad Ron was pretty useless. I did like the characters though, the couple is pretty lovely, and I enjoyed the team. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
