House of Crimson Kisses: Kingdom of Immortal Lovers, Book 2

I don't know where to begin as my mind is still reeling from this book and my heart is shattered knowing I have to wait for book 3. Well-written - I think maybe 2 typos and a couple missing commas in the entire book. This is extremely rare in the age of authors thinking they can edit their own books or have their bestie proof-read and call that editing. This series is clearly not being written by AI as it is an orginal story in the fantasy trope of vampires and hunters. My first thought when reading the overview was, "more of the same, but I'm bored and will try a sample." I'm glad I did. It's not more of the same, it's a funny, heart-rending, adventure filled with tragedy and steamy lesbian scenes (that are clearly written by a lesbian). I will say there are times that one of the characters makes me want to snack sense into her and that we all saw the ending to this book coming (including most lead characters). A quite infuriatingly well-crafted ending, I must admit. If you want all of that plus deep character development, an exquitely crafted plot, and a great companion to a cup of coffee (or glass of wine), curled on your favorite reading chair, buy this book. I did and it was money well spent. Ms. Roe, I expect a similar caliber of writing in the next book that I expect will be worth the wait. You earned a fan and new follower. I'm going to try your other series since you insist I not be a brat and wait patiently for my reward.

If you're reading the reviews because you are debating about getting into this series and already looked at the reviews from the first book and want to see what others said about the second, this is your sign to BUY IT. I read through the first book in a couple weeks. I read this book in 24 hours. It would have been finished sooner if I didn't have adult responsibilities to take care of but even then, got an oil change today and read this book while waiting. Cooking dinner, read it while the food was in the air fryer. This series just sucks you right in. And you need to know everything that is going to happen next. There was no "let me read a chapter and go to bed". No, it was finish this book and then I can start the next one, who needs sleep! Ruby Roe is absolutely exceptional in her writing, does a great job building scenes and really getting your heart to ache. I laughed, I teared up, and I'm happy we finally learned the memories that were taken away! I'm also very glad I purchased the third book when I purchased this so I didn't have to wait to find out what Red decided to do (even tho we all know what she's going to do lol) Seriously such an incredible series. It's like vampire diaries mixed with 50 shades of grey + lesbians! They need to make this into a movie !

I mean, what else could a gal want than campy, dramatic, sexy sapphic vampires? Fun, quick, dirty read. Surprisingly, I find these vampires far more believable (and likable) than those of the Twilight ilk.

Ruby Roe’s House of Crimson Kisses completely swept me away! The tension between Red and Octavia is even more intense this time, blending raw passion with high-stakes danger that had me glued to every page. The worldbuilding is rich and layered, with intrigue, betrayal, and haunting flashbacks that add so much depth to the story. The romance is sizzling, bold, steamy, and perfectly balanced against the darker twists of the plot. That cliffhanger ending left me desperate for the next book! While it’s easy to grab a copy on Amazon, I recommend ordering directly from Ruby Roe’s website since the books come signed, which makes them feel extra special.

This was the first time I read books from this author and all I can say is O-M-G! I love the storylines. I am a diehard Vampire fan and this was right up my alley. The spice in the book was to die for. It had me on the edge of my seat. I was invested in the characters. Octavia & Red had me laughing, crying, excited, angry, hurt for their love! If I had to give a negative, it would be that I’m a big Audiobook reader and the second book and maybe the third was not in that format. OAN: I’m sad that I have to wait until 2025 for the ending…
