Description

In a realm where blood and shadow hold court, two women from opposing worlds are thrust into a collision that defies life itself. As the stakes climb in this high-octane sapphic fantasy, the boundaries between hunter and prey blur, sparking a volatile attraction that neither can afford—yet neither can resist. The narrative masterfully weaves a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers arc, grounded by the raw, human vulnerability of a vampire who feels far more than she is permitted to admit. Through shifting perspectives, the story delves into the internal battle between duty and desire, painting an intimate portrait of two souls tethered by fate in a hostile kingdom. The chemistry is electric, heightened by the constant, looming threat of a larger, darker mystery waiting to be unmasked. Perfect for fans of immersive world-building and profound character exploration, this story offers much more than a typical romance. It is an emotional journey where passion acts as a weapon and trust is the ultimate sacrifice. With a fast-paced plot that keeps momentum high and a bond that challenges the limits of immortality, this is an irresistible invitation into a world of crimson hearts and dangerous promises.

Bring me more. Incredible characters and plot twists

I was eager to read this new release. Having thoroughly enjoyed the Girl Games trilogy I was excited to see where Red's story led. I was amazed at this wonderful book. I found the relationship between Octavia and Red really entertaining. I will not put a spoiler here but their dynamic is over the top angst, humor, and sensual adventure...guess you'll just have to read it to see what I mean. It will definitely be worth your time and the emotions that will run through you in the process. This book was difficult to put down and do other daily tasks. I also as usual was engaged with the other characters which are also well developed and as mysterious as the secrets that are wound in this twisted journey. I will say that I am not excited that the second book is so far off. 09/204. Yet all good things truly are worth waiting for. House of Crimson Hearts was no exception. Thank you Ruby Roe for once again keeping my reading world so broad and exciting.

Must Read - Dark, Tormented, Hot

If steamy lesbian sex bothers you, don't read this. If you like a HEALTHY side of it intertwined with a entertaining story, excellent character development, and Rockstar writing, this is a MUST read. REVIEW: This is Shakespeare for lesbian fantasy lovers with a light touch of D/s (Dominance and Submission) by our leading characters. Lucky us, our lovely author takes it many steps beyond Shakespeare's wildest dreams with dark twists and characters that are far more relatable -- in fact, there is more than one Roma & Juliette plot occurring with consequences that can spell salvation and destruction of an entire city (the world if our Vampiristic world extends beyond Sangui City). The characters are lovable and despicable in their choices, but very likeable (well, all but a couple--they would scare anyone in a dark alley). Are we who the world says we are or can we become more? Can we fight destiny and, if we do, who do we hurt other than ourselves? Those questions are explored in Book 1, and I hope answered in Books 2 & 3.

Lesbian Vampire Fantasy jackpot

Compared to some queer books I’ve read, I appreciated the writing and imagination and creativity of this one. The spice level is super high and it’s a great vampire fantasy book. I already ordered the second one and pre-ordered the third. My favorite lesbian romance book is The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith so my bar is quite high, however I really enjoyed this one and couldn’t put it down. The mystery and storyline are great and the attraction and chemistry between the main characters is amazing. Looking forward to starting book 2!

What's more addictive? This book or a vampires blood?

This book was so good its almost stupid HOW good it was. At first I was a little thrown off at how the main characters first were introduced to each other but the author did a phenomenal job describing there was always something more there. The build up between the characters emotional relationship just had you craving for more and more. If you want the smut, it's there at every single turn, in such vivid detail. Which the author did a great job sucking you in at those moments even though it's very much throughout the story. But the emotional build up between the two characters really made this book an addictive read. I won't spoil the ending but some of it you see coming, the other part catches you off guard but makes you mad if you didn't already order the next book to start! If you are lucky enough to stumble onto this book, I give you my word, you will not regret buying it. I'm just cursing at myself for not already ordering the next book so I can start reading right now!

Can't put it down!

This is the first book of Ruby Roe's that I read, and it blew me away completely. I haven't read a book this fast in a long time. I love all of Ruby Roe's books SO much. Excellent writing and storytelling, exciting plot, steamy to the point of perfection, wonderful friendships and character building, world building that is clear and rich, love getting the perspective of both main characters throughout, plus the awesome flash backs and time jumps.... I can never put her books down and am in mourning that she can't release a new story every month!
