Description

The stakes have never been higher for Saffron as he navigates the cutthroat intersection of politics and desire in the third installment of the Rowan Blood series. Haunted by the lingering influence of his witch’s mark, Saffron is forced to confront the complex power structures of the fey world, where every alliance is a risk and every social interaction is a battlefield. His journey is no longer just about survival; it is about reclaiming his autonomy and testing the limits of his growing confidence. At the heart of the narrative is the tension between Saffron and his shifting relationships. Readers will find themselves pulled into a world defined by its evocative social hierarchy and the raw, genuine chemistry that anchors the emotional stakes. As Saffron grapples with newfound responsibilities and the shadows of his past, he must decide who he can trust when loyalty is treated as a currency. Blending suspenseful pacing with intimate character development, this entry explores themes of identity, agency, and the vulnerability required to love in a society built on manipulation. It is a compelling continuation that rewards those invested in Saffron’s transformation from a pawn into a formidable force of his own making.

Absolutely Stunning!!!

“ ‘Where is he! ‘ the voice tore over stone and debris, booming and echoing off the high ceilings with all the ferocity of an old god seeking retribution. Saffron’s king of the forest had finally come to collect. “ The detail in which Kellen writes never ceases to amaze and enthrall me. Herald of the Witches Mark takes its readers on a journey of love, comfort and betrayal. It’s so nice to see Saffrons character growth from book one, he is wonderfully relatable and has grown in confidence while still seeking comfort and support from his companions. The ever growing relationship between Cylvan and Saffron brings about some of the most genuine romance scenes so far, the author has outdone themselves yet again! Kellen has a way of inducing anxiety and anguish for a few chapters then soothing over it all like a balm the next. It makes their novels irresistible and yet keeps you in suspense the entire time. I spent the last thirty minutes of the book crying both happy and sad tears at the same time. Never has a novel left me in such confliction and yet dying for the next installment!! Rating - 5 ⭐️ Spice -3.5 🌶️

The Boi gets to go to School!

Looooved it! Loved the echos of hurt from the proceeding book present, loved the soft moments, loved the main characters getting to show off their growth as individuals and as a couple, loved all the new 'friends' we get to know! Yes there is still drama and hurt, this IS a Rowan Blood book! BUT: I'd probably rate this one as one of the 'happiest' because the BOI gets to go to SCHOOL where there are BOOKS. So many books. Give Saffron all of the books and all of the forests to roll around in. The ending, while a soft hanger, is the most 'hopeful' of the series so far. Looking forward to the next book in the series to likely annihilate me; this much goodness can't come without a price I am sure.

A great continuation to the series!

It was so fun to return to this world! Saffron is finally able to go to school with Cylvan and even has a glamour to blend in with the other fae. But, of course, they can't openly court and have to pretend to get to know each other. Saffron makes many new friends along the way, including a fiesty owl that absolutely stole my heart. While loving school, Saffron struggles to control his forbidden magic and to reckon with the plight of the humans who are oppressed by the fae. A great continuation to the series!

Perhaps it was selfish of me to ask you to endure this

I received an ARC copy and I really enjoyed this book. It's third in an continuing series and not a stand alone novel, it builds on Prince of The Sorrows and Lord of Silver Ashes. Saffron finally gets to go to school but disguised as High Fae Lord Saffron. So he has to pretend he doesn't know Prince Cylvan, Asche or the royal family. Saffron also has a pretend finance! While Prince Cylvan is hosting suitor ball to find a finance! The plan is for Lord Saffron to break up with his "finance" and fall in love with Prince Cylvan. Being a High Fae really takes a toll on Saffron and his growing Rowan magic added to the stress leads to nose bleeds. Saffron really suffers and help comes from something unexpected - I was very surprised! Ryder is back as well as new characters! My favorite being Sionnach a kind Saytar, and I also like Saffron's roommate Copper. Also there's a barn owl named Fichra. I thought well since Cylvan and Saffron have to pretend they don't know each other they might not have time together but there is a lot of stolen moments. The romance is at a high which is great! There are so many sweet moments! My favorites being Asche holding Saffron's hand and Saffron kissing Copper on the cheek. Also there's a scene of Cylvan comforting Saffron that made me love him even more! The danger is also very high and I was crying. Again keep in mind this is a continuing series more books are planned. There's fluff, danger, comfort, fear, hope and wonder. I cried and…

My new obsession

This series is not one to be passed by. The social hierarchy between fey, the emotions, the magic system combined together like this, sucks you in. I've always preferred the old Lore when it comes to fey and this series stays true to that. Throw in the modern romance where noone questions it, and it's not a taboo subject? 10/10. I cannot wait for this series to continue! Beautifuly written!
