Description

A high-stakes charade is the only thing standing between Elena and the life she has worked so hard to build. When a complication threatens her professional legacy, she needs a partner—someone sophisticated, sharp, and entirely convincing. Enter Julianne, a woman whose presence is as intoxicating as the midnight garden where they first cross paths. They strike a deal: pretend to be a couple until the danger passes. It is a simple arrangement on paper, but the lines blur the moment the cameras stop flashing. What begins as a calculated performance quickly morphs into a game of magnetic tension and undeniable longing. As they navigate the shadows of a suspenseful mystery, the walls they have built around their hearts begin to crumble. Caught between the safety of their lie and the raw, terrifying possibility of something real, they must decide if their connection is just another role to play or the beginning of a life they never expected. This story masterfully balances atmospheric suspense with the slow-burn intensity of a fake dating romance. With its lush prose and deeply felt chemistry, this novel captures the electric spark of falling for the one person you were never supposed to touch.

Can a Playgirl Socialite and an aloof Club Owner Rise to the Challenge or Fall in Flames?

3.5⭐️ Overall I loved the premise and tension between the MCs. The spice was very nice and well written. It also flowed well throughout. Their chemistry was off the chart. Lux had decent character development. She started off very a very annoying, self-centered playgirl. With just a tiny bit of responsibility and support, she started to grow and mature. Her character became more likable and real. Some of the back and forth between Lux and Sloane was repetitive, which caused those emotions and responses to fall flat in my opinion. I think it’s worth the read if you like sapphic kink and romance. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ok

This book was written well, but neither character's stakes were high enough for me to care. I didn't get ice queen vibes from the supposed ice queen, more like she was emotionally stunted. All in all, a decent quick read with some spice.
