Description

After a devastating tragedy leaves her world in ruins, the protagonist finds herself drifting through the wreckage of a life once planned out, now extinguished by loss and trauma. She is isolated, anchored only by her own grief, and convinced that her future has been permanently erased. Then, she meets her. Powerful, magnetic, and undeniably intense, this new woman enters her life not as a healer, but as an undeniable force of nature. This is not a story of easy healing or temporary comfort; it is a raw, high-stakes exploration of what happens when two broken souls collide in the shadows. The connection that sparks between them is as perilous as it is profound, pulling the protagonist into a passionate, consuming reality she never dared to imagine. As their bond deepens, she is forced to confront the thin line between recovery and obsession. Dark, visceral, and deeply intimate, this story traces the agonizing yet beautiful path of rebuilding one’s identity through the arms of someone who challenges every internal boundary. It is a testament to the fact that sometimes, salvation arrives in the most unexpected—and dangerous—forms, proving that even in the absolute dark, love can be a formidable, life-altering necessity.

Gritty and exciting

Reading this book was a sensory experience in itself. The descriptive content and wording made me feel like I was eating the most delicious dinner ever while the chef described where the food came from and every interesting intricacy about each dish. Loved it.

great story…but

So, this was a good book. It really was. Good characters, good story, good editing. There was only one VERY glaring issue that I had. I don’t want to give the story away. But the fact that this author that wrote a “lesbian love story” is fixated on the fact that a woman has to use a strap-on in order to have “real” sex and be able to “truly be in a relationship” is absolutely ridiculous and quite honestly a bit insulting. I can only assume that this woman is actually straight to have such a backwards and misinformed opinion about what constitutes “real” sex between women.

more than a lesbian romance novel. 👍

Quite frankly, I enjoyed this book more than I expected, simply because it was so much more than the average romance novel. While it is a very interesting love story between two mismatched lovers, drawn together by one’s current tragedy and later seriously threatened by the other’s past trauma. It is obviously a romance. The eventual HEA following many trials, both personal and dangerous. However, what separates this novel from others is that it is a manifesto against the violence perpetrated against women since MAN could creates myths about MAN-kinds origins. Supported by the GoodBook women have been suppressed since the dawn of time. Why, because a male prophet created a world in which all evil came to be, because a curious woman a some juicy fruit. As a result, women have born the brunt of man’s violence, often rooted in a psychology so convoluted that it is often placated by expressions of violence against “the weaker sex”. 93%of interpersonal violence is committed by men against women, and often justified by the Bible… again, a collection of books written by men. This novel deals very intelligently with this sad fact. One last observation about our weaker sex. It is my contention that, if men had to physically be the bearer of babies, mankind would have been extinct about 20 years after Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden by a MAN ! I look forward to reading another of Ms. Eros’ novels.

A steamy thriller

Great writing about women's fears and observations. The author has great insight into the cop mind, perverted, criminal, malicious; take your pick. For Flint, the cop, her story is chasing love with a relentless determination. For her lover, Rebecca, trust was paramount. The clever story of mingling pregnancy and love in the cop world was at times, excruciating, breathtaking and satisfying. Doc Winters was a good call.
