Description

Freya Johansson left the stifling pressures of London’s legal world behind, hoping the tranquil shores of a Dalmatian island would offer the solitude she craves. She expects a quiet life in her new villa, but her peace is disrupted by the silent, imposing presence of the stone cutter living across the ridge. Morana Konzuo is a woman carved from granite, her heart guarded by decades of betrayal and isolation. She has no room in her life for intruders, especially not one as poised and polished as Freya. Yet, their meeting is far from an accident. When their paths collide, they are rocked by inexplicable, shared visions that transcend their current reality. It becomes clear that their connection is not a product of chance, but a karmic tether stretching back through centuries. As their minds and souls begin to bridge the distance between their separate homes, they are forced to confront the wreckage of their pasts and the prejudices of their families. In this slow-burn sapphic romance, two women with shattered histories must navigate the vulnerability of a deep, psychic bond. As old wounds surface, Freya and Morana discover that the only way to heal is to tear down their walls and risk everything for a love that spans lifetimes.

Stone and the Heart a great blend of family and reconnetion

Heart of Stone was an unexpected journey. I am not sure what I thought this book in the series would include but I was pleasantly surprised with the occupations and personalities of the MCs in this book. I am grateful that I have read other books in this series as the more I read all the stories tie together in ways I had no insight into before beginning with Heart of Salt. I am so engaged with these characters that I believe that this should be a never-ending series (understanding the impossibility of such an option). This book has some trigger topics, but they are so transparently dealt with that it was smooth reading for me. Others might find it a bit of a challenge. One of my favorite pieces of this book is the locale. The descriptions of the islands and the water along with the many different dwellings adds so much to the gravity of the story as it locale plays such a part in the MCs adventure to their new lives. This was a book I will read again… the series I have read to this point are all books I will read again. They are ugly cry and feel-good potential all rolled up in one book. V. Dalmatina is incredible with their ability to grab you and let you live the journey of each book with the characters. I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to read and am sharing this review with folks hoping you will find the gifts I have with reading such great work.
