Description

Alana O’Brien once possessed everything a woman could desire: a powerhouse legal career and a profound, life-altering marriage to the radiant Lada. But in a single, devastating heartbeat on an ordinary Easter Monday, a drunk driver fractured her world, silencing her future and leaving her to wander the ruins of her life. For two hollow years, Alana existed in a gray fog, waiting for the rest of her life to catch up to her grief. Everything shifts when she returns to a sun-drenched Adriatic island to visit Lada’s grave. There, she encounters Dona Car, an enigmatic island witch haunted by restless, recurring visions of Lada. Trapped in a purgatory of her own making, Lada’s spirit refuses to cross over, pushing Dona to fulfill one final, impossible mission: guide Alana back to the land of the living. What begins as a supernatural intervention evolves into a soul-shaking connection that defies the boundaries of mortality. As the Croatian summer heat rises, Alana and Dona are pulled into a magnetic, karmic bond that challenges their perceptions of love and closure. This is a visceral journey of healing, proving that sometimes, the heart finds its true home only after it has been completely broken.

Epic journey of trust and risking something unexpected

Heart of Love is an incredible story about resilience and trust between 2 women who feel broken in different yet intertwined ways. The wide array of intense and at times very painfully displayed and navigated emotions make this a rollercoaster of epic Sapphic connection. As with other books in this series, one of the most striking things for me was the open and often frank discussions regarding intimacy. Thus far in the series each couple has had their own history to navigate, making each book unique. I am in a place personally where the emotion and relationship journeys that bring the MCs together speaks to me loudly in a very validating measure. I really loved the relatable characters. This book at this moment was such an unexpected gift. It’s one more reason I have become such a quick fan of V. Dalmatina. There is not a negative piece to say about this book. If you’re afraid to cry before you smile and LOL read one of her other books. Tears flowed with this one for a bit. I am grateful I was given the opportunity to read and share this review after receiving an ARC from the author.

Great romance

I really enjoyed reading this slow burn romance, the hope and healing in it were very encouraging. Recovering from the death of a loved one can be so difficult, but it was handled well in this emotional romance. I am really enjoying all the books in this series.
