Description

Mist and shadows collide in the intoxicating world of the Court of Chains, where survival is a game played with lethal precision. In this gripping installment of the saga, the stakes have never been higher for our protagonists. They must navigate a treacherous landscape of political intrigue, forbidden desires, and ancient, looming threats that jeopardize everything they have bled to protect. At the heart of the story is an intensely charged lesbian romance, defined by a chemistry that burns as brightly as the stakes are deadly. As the characters grapple with their own internal demons and a world designed to keep them apart, they are forced to confront the true price of devotion. The authors weave a complex tapestry of emotional vulnerability and pulse-pounding action, ensuring that every stolen glance and narrow escape lands with maximum impact. This is more than just a tale of power and prestige; it is a masterclass in building a world that feels both hauntingly alien and achingly grounded. With sharp, multifaceted characters who refuse to be bound by convention, the narrative pulls you into a whirlwind of longing and high-seas tension. Prepare for a sensory experience that is as steamy as it is emotionally devastating.

Green-Eyed Monster is queer, kinky, witchy perfection!

I'm gonna need a minute babes... I'm gonna need several minutes.... omg. OH HELL YES—Green-Eyed Monster by Rawnie Sabor is exactly the kind of sapphic demon-witch enemies-to-lovers chaos I crave at 2am when I want to feel destroyed and mended at the same time. This series?? A full-blown obsession. Book three in the Court of Chains series is all about Envy, so of course it’s gonna get dark. Rawnie doesn’t shy away from the intensity—this is a razor-sharp, soul-clawing, kink-infused love story between two powerful women who absolutely should not want each other… and yet??? They burn. They crave. And we are so lucky to witness it. Let’s start with Vex—our demon of Envy, who is MEAN, chaotic, and emotionally feral. It took me more than a minute to warm up to her, because she comes in guns blazing with that “I hate you but also I’m obsessed with you” energy. But babes… once you crack her open and see what’s really underneath that sharp exterior? OH. The spiral. The yearning. The devotion. I was gone. And Angela Norwood?? She’s a witch, she’s brilliant, and she is a revelation. Rawnie wrote her with such intentional grace—Angela is logical, emotionally grounded, unapologetically powerful, and deliciously complex. She’s not just “the love interest,” she’s the heart of this book. She makes Vex work for it, in every way, and I loved her for it. The tension between them is wild. Like “I hate you, don’t touch me” vs. “I will burn the world down for you” wild. And when it finally…

Just keeps getting better!

I can't get enough of this series and didn't ever want to put it down. As much as I loved the last book with Pride, I was eagerly awaiting Vex's story ever since being introduced. I think of all the sins, Envy has to be one of the most complicated, if not the most. Not just as a deadly sin but as an entity of Sin. The complexities that fester in an Envy demon made Vex unnervingly relatable to me in certain ways which oddly enough, gave her some humanity in a way. And it was fascinating to see how a character that feeds off jealousy and hate, someone with a tortuous (yet so recent) past, could be more than what she was created to be. Angela was such a well written character and especially perfect enough to balance out Vex's emo and broody persona but not only that, to be an opposing force to Vex's true nature and be the catalyst that proved she could be more. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope because it always makes for a hot push and pull between the MCs and there was plenty of heat throughout this story. The tension and anger makes for some awesome angry spice and there is plenty of that in amazing detail. I'm pretty sure I've been ruined for most other authors who write spice because these are the lengthy and emersive scenes I crave. I might have forgotten to breathe a few times. All in all, I love this world that's been built and getting to learn more with each page and each book and I love that we got to see even more of it through this book. The plots are so…

Well worth the read

This was by far my favorite book of this year and one that will be going in my Read Again pile. I love the author's character development. She really has a knack for guiding the reader through the character's motivations, sort of fitting for books based on the Deadly Sins. Also, the spice is super hot, did I mention that? I also highly recommend the previous books in the series, but it isn't a requirement, the author provides a great world rundown right in the beginning that makes it easy to get up to speed. I will say, this has been my favorite of the 3 Sapphic books, but saying that is like picking a favorite child, they are all my favorite. So if you like your romance dark, but not too dark, your characters troubled, but not too troubled, and your spice hot, then this is an amazing book.

I love the story, good character development too.

somewhat predictable but it kept you on your toes because it we hard to tell when or how things would happen. So that kept me turning the page. Too many words sometimes. Perfect amount of spice. Pretty

Ten stars; fantastic addition to this series!

This series is one of my favorites anyhow, and this book just cements that. It ticks all my boxes for a fantasy: dark, delicious romance, wonderfully detailed character development, spice that totally fits the story, gritty action with an emotionally gripping plot, and a world that I just want more of. Best of all, each book can be read as a stand-alone, and the author does a nice glossary of relevant terms in the beginning to make it easy to re-engage seamlessly. I can’t wait for Maya’s story, which is the next one out. I highly recommend this book and the series.
