What a beautiful and hilarious book!! Toni is so funny and sweet, and his love story with Jude is so heartwarming!! Nik Knight does such a fantastic job writing found family in a REAL way!! I couldn't stop laughing, and I even cried a few times reading this beautiful story!!

New to me author and I was blown away. Amazing world building, interesting characters, wonderful found family aspect along with broad representation across various spectrums and a cute love story.

When the found family is so good you wish you could be a part of it. Another wonderful addition to the Passing Through Cafe series. This one follows Toni (shark-like monster) & Jude (Human) through their journey of becoming friends and emerging as lovers. Toni falls first and patiently waits for Jude to be ready. (We love a boundary respecting king). Navigating difficult families, setting boundaries, embracing your chosen people, and realistic & beautiful depictions of the sometimes confusing worlds of dating & identity all twine together in the unhinged, hilarious, world of Hell. When a book can make you double over laughing one moment, then have you holding back tears the next it’s a true gem. Nik writes monsters (and humans) who feel deeply, who are learning about the world and themselves, who are layered and complex. You still get steamy monster spicy times and all the unique world building that makes a fantasy rich and wonderful. But you get it with emotions and issues that’ll take you on a journey you’ll never forget.
