❄️ It feels like life when I'm close to you, and like death when I'm not 🔥
"My face is pale, skin glowing and clear, and there's a distinctive pink blush on my cheeks. Pale pink. Rose pink. Heat pink."
"I am going into heat. In a cabin in the middle of god***** nowhere, with an alpha I hardly know, and no way to escape."
"The second I enter the room, Branson's nostrils flare. His chin drops and his eyes darken. He takes two long strides toward me before catching himself and coming to a dead stop."
"How do I smell?"
"You smell like something that's mine."
"His scent is threatening to overpower me. It's burned into my brain. His DNA branded into my mind. A secret sequence I know now. A sequence I won't forget, no matter how long I live. I'm powerless against it. I'm a slave to it."
"You're so pretty, Lucy. So beautiful. You're the most beautiful omega I've ever seen, and you're mine. You're mine. You're mine. Mine."
"My pretty boy. My beautiful mate. I'm going to make you the happiest omega on the planet."
"I'll serve you, my omega, in every way that matters. For the rest of your life, you'll want for nothing, d'you hear me? You will fear no one. You'll fear nothing because nothing and no one will harm you as long as I live."
"I'm smiling because Branson is smiling. I'm happy because he's happy. I'm smiling because he is here. Because he's my mate."
"I see the deepest part of him. An old, animalistic part that's been stripped bare."
This was such an amazing book. Jesse put another banger out as usual. I was so excited to see her write an…

A fun and steamy omegaverse!
PoV: dual, 1st person
Genre: paranormal romance, omegaverse, MM
Tropes / tags: ex's brother, forced proximity, unexpected heat
Gone Wild was such a fun and steamy read! A chaotic, sassy omega going into an unexpected heat trapped in a cabin with a stoic, gentle alpha? Yes please!
I adored Lucien, he was somewhat of a chaos goblin, and seeing his nervous ramblings around Branson was hilarious. He could be a bit of a diva, but I loved his brand of drama and sass. It was hard to get a read on Branson from Lucien's PoV, so I was thrilled once Branson's PoV came along and it became clear how he'd been pining for Lucien. He was so gone for his little omega, and I loved to see how he took care of him through his heat.
Branson was gentle and sweet, and he was mindful of Lucien's hesitancy around alphas. Lucien certainly had no plans on going through a heat or falling in love, so he didn't exactly make it easy for Branson. Branson was such a softie, and it was easy to see how smitten he was with Lucien. It definitely got hot and steamy, but there was also an emotional attachment growing between them. Their romance was cute and fun to read, and while things were moving fast for them, they truly were perfect for each other.
Gone Wild was a sweet, entertaining and steamy story, with forbidden feelings and lots of tension! I enjoyed Jesse H Reign's take and twists on omegaverse, and even if Lucien and Branson's romance was sweet, there were hints of a grittier reality for omegas. I…
Disappointing is an understatement. Probably because I’ve become accustomed to this author’s exceptional works such as Poetry On Ice, The Legend Next Door, Flagrant Foul, Unrequited, Requited, Unbreak Me, and even The First and The Last (omegaverse) was much better than THIS book.
There is no plot to this book at all. Welp! None outside the whole omega heat, unwanted mate tropes which is 99.9% of the book. At lease in The First and The Last they had to overcome their pack leader who’d have put them down like rabid dogs for mating.
So…what did I like about the story? I liked Lucien and his effervescent personality, his internal monologues, and his final capitulation and commitment to Branson. Branson is, of course, the still waters run deep, marshmallow softie inside a ginormous Alpha body kind of guy who’s been carrying a torch for Lucien since they first met…way back when Lucien was dating Brandon’s younger brother, Jensen.
Their cabin getaway goes sideways when it’s canceled due to impending snow storm, but Lucien is the only one who doesn’t get the memo and is the only one who arrives and then gets snowed in with the host, who just happens to be Branson.
What was the thing that irritated me the most about this book? It was the author giving Lucien the female nickname of ‘Lucy’ that I found the most reprehensible thing ever. Lu, Luke, Luca, would’ve been awesome alternative nicknames, but no…I got stuck with reading ‘Lucy’ which, personally just rubbed me the wrong…

Very spicy. Forced proximity trope with a happy ending was nice. Not a huge fan of miscommunication/no memory trope (comes up a couple times between the beginning with the weekend trip with friends and then after with the bite) but this book made it work. Can’t wait for the second book.

Steamy and spicy omegaverse!
I have been so excited to read omegaverse from Jesse, and this was a steamy, spicy read!
Fans of all the omegaverse tropes, forced proximity, best friend's brother, and mate bonds will REALLY enjoy this one!
I adored Branson and just how gentle giant green flag he is. He's been in love with Lucien for years and hid it well, since Lucien thinks how they barely know each other. I do wish we'd maybe had a bit more inner thoughts from Branson on the emotional aspect of it all? Even though we had chapters from his POV, it still felt like I didn't know him as well and he was so private? Compared to Lucien.
Also, it did take me a little bit to warm up to Lucien, since he's a bit bratty, kinda standoffish? and tries so hard to come off as unbothered and a strong omega.
One thing I really loved was Jesse's take on omegaverse and how there were a couple things that made it feel a bit fresh and different, like the things leading up to the heat for the omega, the rules of the bond and claiming bites and the results of one. I really enjoyed these little unique additions to the worldbuilding.
I'd definitely read more omegaverse from this author! I REALLY hope she'll return to it and write Branson's brother's story!!
