Description

April Evans is at a breaking point. After the closure of her tattoo shop and a heartbreak that has lingered for three years, she is desperate for a fresh start. A summer art-teaching gig at Cloverwild, a posh new resort in New Hampshire, feels like the perfect lifeline. But the universe has a cruel sense of humor: her new cabinmate is none other than Daphne Love—the very woman who stole April’s ex-fiancée. To make matters more agonizing, Daphne has absolutely no inkling of their shared history. For Daphne, Cloverwild is supposed to be a sanctuary for healing after her own recent relationship crash-and-burn. Instead, she finds herself walking on eggshells around a coworker who seems to harbor an inexplicable, icy grudge. As the two artists are pitted against each other for a prestigious gallery spot in London, the tension between them is electric, volatile, and impossible to ignore. Caught in a swirl of professional rivalry and buried secrets, the lines between enemies and lovers begin to blur. Can they forgive the betrayals of the past, or will the ghosts of an old flame destroy their chance at a new beginning? This is a sharp, stirring story about finding love in the most inconvenient places.

Art and Love come alive in this book

Absolutely loved this book. I could see my self in both characters. The tarot card theme was perfect. I enjoyed learning about art, painting and curating. Sasha character was perfect so fun and charming. Keep writing Ashley Herring Blake.

Finally!

Okay, THIS felt like a redemption moment after Ramona and Dylan. I’ll admit I was starting to worry that ABH was slipping into a predictable rhythm — a steady stream of sapphic romances that felt a little too similar, just with different names swapped in. But since Delilah Green Doesn’t Care, this is the one that completely pulled me back in. From the moment Daphne Love meets April Evans — and just blankly stares like, “Wait… who are you?!” — I was hooked. April’s simmering animosity paired with Daphne’s complete obliviousness created the perfect storm for a passion-filled, chaotic sapphic romance that felt fresh, messy, and deeply entertaining. And honestly, bringing Elena back into the picture was a stroke of genius. For a solid stretch, I genuinely thought we might not get a happily-ever-after, which made the emotional stakes feel real and unpredictable in the best way. Now I just need the next book to be about Sasha Sinclair because I absolutely need more of whatever energy that character is bringing.

A sexy sapphic romance!

I've loved all of Ashley Herring Blake's books, and this one was no exception! Sexy, swoony, spicy, and with a delightful dash of astrology this time, Get Over It, April Evans was one of those "stay up way too late to finish it" books for me.

A must read

I love small town stories. But combing two exes who fall for someone else's ex? Yeah this was good and I couldn't put it down.

Decent Romance

So this one didn't work quite as well as I thought it was going to. I think this was partially due to the inclusion of Ramona and Dylan, and their character portrayals in this one didn't feel true to the development we got in book one. I also felt like this was a bit insta-love, especially on Daphne's side, considering the situation they were all in. The time jump at the end helped alleviate this some, but I still think I would have liked this one more if they weren't in love by 2/3 of the way through. I also thought April was going to be the MC, but that spot felt taken up by Daphne, with most of April's growth not really happening on page and not occurring until much later in the book. I do like how the author sets up so neatly for the next book, and I am quite interested in seeing Sasha's story. This was a good romance read overall. My thanks to NetGalley and Berkely Publishing for allowing me to read this work. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
