Description

Gentry Buchanan has spent decades constructing a life defined by duty, stability, and the unwavering protection of his son. As a man who prides himself on doing the right thing, he has mastered the art of suppressing his own needs to keep his world steady. However, that carefully constructed foundation begins to fracture the moment Remington Buchanan enters his orbit. Remington is everything Gentry is not: young, impulsive, and vibrant. He is also entirely off-limits, serving as both a local golden-boy firefighter and Gentry’s son’s best friend. Despite the insurmountable age gap and the devastating social consequences of crossing such a boundary, the magnetic pull between the two men is impossible to ignore. When an unexpected tragedy forces them to co-parent a young boy in need, the proximity turns stolen glances into undeniable, life-altering sparks. As their professional facade crumbles into intimate, late-night confessions, Gentry is forced to make an agonizing choice. Pursuing Remington means risking the wreckage of his most important relationships and torching the quiet, predictable life he has carefully curated. In this tender, high-stakes romance, Gentry must decide if finding himself is worth the risk of losing everyone he holds dear.

True to one's self

Ashley James left the best of the Moore Men for last. Gentry was everything! And Remi was equally as wonderful! Gentry was the perfect grump! I loved his frankness and awkwardness. His love for his family was heartwarming and his backstory was relatable on so many levels. His relationship with his children was just wonderful, the way they all accepted and championed each other took my breath away. Remington has been such a fun character to hang out with throughout this series. He may have seemed somewhat superficial at first, always flirting and messing with the other characters, but he really was so much more. He was sensitive and sympathetic, responsible and loving, light and complex at the same time. I’m so happy he found his HEA with Gentry. Now having had the experience of listening to the AUDIOBOOK, I will say that it managed to elevate an already amazing story. Teddy Hamilton as Remi and Stephen Borne as Gentry were perfection! Teddy voiced the perfect flirt and Stephen a more seasoned and mature man. Bravo! Inspired by this book’s dedication, I’ll say that no one should ever have to hide or shrink themselves to fit into what society deems acceptable. Thank you, Ashley James, for creating a world where acceptance rules, love is freely given and family knows no bounds.
