Stars, Hockey, Drama with a big dose of Falling in love
I was NOT prepared for the absolute ache this caused my heart.
I was not prepared for the emotional damage this book inflicted. And the level of spice?! I needed a cold shower after that frat party scene. If I’d been there, I would have been pressed against that window right along with them.
There should have been a warning: WILL CAUSE CHEST TIGHTENING AND TEARS
But will also have you blushing like a nun watching euphoria! I mean that in the best way possible. I went into this expecting a fun, happy-go-lucky story with an edgy bad boy, but Miles walked in, said “Surprise, bitch!” and tore down every emotional barrier I had.
Miles is the definition of a tortured soul. He has a deep, unsettling passion and a rage that he channels into art so tangible I could practically smell the wet paint on the pages. The raw, vulnerable headspace he lives in captures the experience of grief and trauma in a way few authors can. His character development wasn’t just a plot point; it was something you felt you lived through. The way he explained the "cloud" clinging to him and Dax, a living, breathing thing, was haunting. But together, they were like a beautifully rough spring storm that swept the fog away. I found myself itching to read faster, ingesting the pages just to watch these two opposites slot into each other's missing pieces.
And Dax? He is the "sunshine" personified. He lightens every room he enters, and the energy he brings to the page is outstanding. But Dax has so much more…
For Frat's Sake' is the third book in the Peach State Fratbros series, and I think it’s my favorite so far. While it keeps the fresh, fun vibe of the first two, this one goes a lot deeper.
Dax is Alpha Theta Mu’s carefree, easygoing flirt we met way back in the Step Bros' series. Miles is Sigma Alpha’s former broody troublemaker making enemies in 'The Frathole'.
They couldn’t be more different, but they eventually discover they have a lot more in common than they think. They’re both carrying a ton of trauma and guilt. Dax hides his pain behind a happy, sunshine façade, while Miles is closed off and grumpy.
At first, it’s very much only fast-paced attraction, hot, impulsive, and a little messy. But luckily it doesn’t stay there. The more time they spend together, the more it turns into this surprisingly tender, safe-place kind of romance. Watching Dax stop performing nonchalance for everyone else, and watching Miles slowly open and trust someone, was genuinely sweet.
The authors did a great job mixing the light, fun college life with the more serious stuff, like grief and parental neglect, and both are handled beautifully. The banter is on point, the chemistry is ridiculous, and the emotional payoff feels earned.
I absolutely recommend this one. It works as part of the series (you’ll appreciate the cameos and the friend group's found family dynamics), but it also feels like a complete story on its own. I can’t wait to see what’s next in this universe.

Just Add More Chocolate Chips
This is a 277-page Fast Paced, Hurt-Comfort, Darkness/Sunshine, Found Family with Family Drama, Redemption Arc College MM Romance, full of cuddles. This is the third book in the Peach State Fratbros Series and the sixth book in the Peach State College Universe. You can also read three books in the Peach State Stepbros series, and even though all the ensemble does show and cameo, they can all be read as standalones.
Riley Hart rejoins the universe she helped create after taking a two-book break! While the last two books were written solely by Devon McCormack and were awesome, this third book packed a punch. And before you say, “Toddles! That’s kinda rude!” Think of it like a chemistry experiment where you are mixing ingredients or elements together. By themselves they are strong and successful, but together brings their work to another explosive level.
Written in alternating chapters dual first person POV, this book starts out shortly after book two ends, before quickly jumping a little time to the next semester where Dax is in his 5th year, completing his nursing degree, his passion of just wanting to help people and make them happy guiding his way. He is a high energy, fun loving, overly $3xua1 guy that is known for pulling straight guys out of the closet. Miles is the dark stain on Greek Row, with the reputation of setting one of the Frat Houses on fire in a prank that went wrong. He is rough around the edge, with internal spikes that help keep people away from him, but…
**I was gifted an ARC of this book**
I went into this expecting a fun, chaotic college/frat romance… and yeah, it definitely delivers on the chaos—but not always in the way I wanted.
First things first… the word “frat” is used a lot. Like… a distracting amount. At one point I genuinely started noticing it every time it popped up, and it pulled me out of the story more than once—especially when it didn’t quite fit the context.
The dynamic between Dax and Miles was also a bit hit or miss for me. There were moments where I could see what the story was trying to do, but a lot of it just felt awkward and a little underdeveloped. There’s a lot going on with both of them, and it didn’t always feel like it was fully unpacked in a way that made their connection click.
And listen—I get the whole “college freedom/exploration” vibe, but the amount of sex, especially with Dax, felt a little over the top at times. It kind of overshadowed the emotional side of things for me.
I also found the writing a bit hard to follow in places. This is book three in the series, and while you can read it as a standalone, I do think you’d probably get more out of it if you’ve read the earlier books for context.
That said, it wasn’t a bad read—there were still moments that worked, and I can see why people would enjoy it, especially if you like messy college dynamics and high spice.

Healing, Spice, and Frat Men
We are back at Peach State University. Dax is pure sunshine on the outside- bubbly, sweet, and easy to love, but underneath all that light is so much hurt, loneliness, and weight he’s been carrying quietly. Miles has the reputation of an emotional and easy to anger grump and bad boy after everything that happened with the frat house fire, but the more we get to know him, the more we see how gentle, vulnerable, and misunderstood he really is.
I loved watching their relationship grow from curiosity and chemistry into something soft, safe, and real. The art class setup, the modeling, the first date, the paintings, the quiet conversations, and the way they slowly open up to each other were all so well done. Both Dax and Miles are dealing with grief, complicated relationships with their fathers, and the fear that they might not be easy to love. But together they each find someone who truly sees them. Their connection felt natural and healthy, without unnecessary drama or frustrating miscommunication.
And let’s not forget the spice, because the chemistry between these two was absolutely top tier. This book has all the fun college frat romance energy I love, but it also handles heavier themes like depression, loss, trauma, and healing with so much care. I adored Dax and Miles together, and I loved seeing them grow both as individuals and as a couple. This was emotional, spicy, and easily one of my favorite couples in the series.
