A really sweet love story
This one brings out all the feels. During her high school days, Jade wasn't trying to be someone she wasn't. Quiet and shy, no one really knew her. Monica had spent her whole life trying to live up to her parents standards. Few people knew her real self, in fact, she really didn't either! When Jade (who went by Mystique in high school) met up with her crush 15 years after school, she never expected anything to come of it. Monica was a tv news persona now who had a not so good reputation in the "friendly" department. Seemed to Jade that not much had changed with Monica thru the years. What happens next? Of course, that's the whole story. What a sweet story it is. It was very satisfying to read how their lives came together after realizing neither was really what they had seemed to be so many years ago. I totally enjoyed this book.

Abigail Taylor has a way of pulling you into the stories she's written. You get immersed and begin to feel as though the characters could be friends of yours.
This is a story about crushes and how they are important but it's what they evolve into that matters.
This story is well written and leaves you wanting more! Well done!
I was going to start this review of Abigail' book, with what a way she has with words. But it is not enough. She has such a way with people and thoughts and feelings. Her words just grab me each time and don't let go. She nails Monica to a tee. Beautiful, Head Cheerleader, dating the quarterback. Parents have money. But Monica is just playing a part, and she never stops. Mystique/Jade is the outcast. Picked on, bullied. She gets through high school with her drawings of her muse, Monica, as her support. In present day, Monica is a tv newscaster. Jade is a star in the making with her dress design business. Chance throws them together, and it just warms my heart. It was so feel good, it brought tears to my eyes. I don't do crying. But. I hope you give this wonderful book a try. Not just this book, but all of Abigail Taylor's book. You will not be disappointed.
There are certain authors that you will buy their book knowing it will be a winner. With Ms. Taylor she does it for me every time. I fall in love with her books more and more each time.
Her books are relatable, full of feelings and very passionate.
Fashioning a Star has it all.
Relatable: having that high school crush but didn't act upon it.
Feelings: after 15 years putting your feelings on the line and hoping.
Passionate: showing how love is passionate, exciting and sexy.
Put all that together you have a wonderful story between Jade & Monica where you could feel their feelings and find yourself rooting for them. Put in a couple of "OH" moments and a couple of "Ahhhh" moments and you have an absolutely wonderful book.
This is a wonderful summer read! I truly could not put it down.
I found this book entertaining and humorous. I liked the characters especially the main characters, Mystique/Jade Miller and Monica Hart/Starr. I found it interesting that it took Monica a few weeks to discover that Jade was Mystique the blue haired goth girl that was bullied all through out high school. Though Jade's hair color was red as an adult I wonder if it was her natural hair color it was never stated but I would have liked to know. I was a little disappointed that characters height was never mentioned, or there wasn't more in the epilogue. I liked the ending but just wished it went further than 3 months. Oh well this didn't change my opinion of this story or the number of stars given. I truly recommend this book to everyone that loves a good romance.
