Ok. I don't even know where to start. *fans self* Unhinged, I think is the best way to describe what I just listened to. I. WAS. HERE. FOR. IT! I have so much to say but it's all spoilers! So...
Ezra and Kaspian are insane. They are crazy possessive and crazy obsessive.
Their chemistry was 🔥 hot. There are twists and turns that had me saying, "wait, what!?" Their banter was fun, both of them trying to be in control. It was all around chaos. I couldn't stop listening!
I know everyone has a different definition of what they consider a dark romance. To me, when two guys are going at it because they were so turned on watching the other off someone, while said body is in the near vicinity, is a dark romance. If you don't consider that dark, then we need to be friends because I'm missing something here! 😅
The audiobook!? *fans self again* These narrators really, really got into character. 🥵 Like I said, I couldn't stop listening!!
Holy hotness of obsessive, dark love! 😍😍😍😍😍
Dysfunctional has been on my TBR list for a while--an out of control, never-ending list. When I first stumbled upon it, the premise was instantly intriguing to me. I'm all about a dark romance with themes that sometimes make others squeamish. Hey, we all like what we like, am I right?
At first, I put off diving in because I wasn't sure if I was willing to commit to a whole dark romance devoted completely to a mm couple. (Don't start bashing me for that comment yet. It's not what you think; I promise. I am all for LGTBQIA+ content.)
Although I've read plenty of mfm and reverse harem books, most of the mm books that I've read were kinda blah (with the exception of one series that was effing amazing but tragically never completed by the author--curse you, Jex Lane!). The romance in many mm books (that I've read) often seems stilted, lacks passion, and the sex scenes seem...lacking. I digress; apologies.
So, I started this book and was immediately hooked. The characters were everything I wanted and more. The darkness? Delicious! The way the story unfolded was nothing short of brilliance. And the chemistry and sex between Quinn and Kas was off the effing charts! *takes a second to fan self and then applaud* 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I LOVED this book! I'll most likely end up reading it again at some point because I did love it so much and to see if I pick up on anything new.
Thanks for an amazing book, Mx. Lucero! Seriously, thank you.

I enjoyed a lot of this book. I probably would have liked it more though, if it had been shorter, with a few less twists. I like twists, but this story didn't need them all. I also wanted Ezra to stay true to the character fleshed out in the beginning.
These are still just little gripes of mine for a story I did actually enjoy. Love and violence - a perfect fictional combo.

☠️ I Like The Darkness In You. Makes Me Feel Normal ☠️
"You. I don't know nearly enough yet, and even though every instinct in me is saying I should stay away from you, I find myself interested in the challenge of dealing with you."
"Overwhelmingly and all-consuming. I want you to feel my absence like you'd feel a knife in your chest."
"Pretty isn't a word I'd use to describe you. You're volatile and arousing. You're captivating and dangerous. You're absolutely devastating. "
"I don't believe in much, but I believe you were made for me. It's me and you. Until the end."
"You're like a magnet and I'm iron. When I get too close, you pull me in, even if you don't mean to."
This is one of the best dark romance MM books I have ever read. Definitely check the TWs on this if you have any. Serial unaliver/stalker, psychopath/sociopath, kinky spice, obsessive/possessive MC. Kaspian is stalking Ezra and baiting him all around town. They eventually meet up and find out each other's secrets. This book was so kinky and spicy 🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥. I loved both of the MCs so much. They were so deranged, toxic, psycho, and just perfect for each other. They both clung to the darkness in each other, which brought out their happiness. Their chemistry and banter was top tier 😏. Safe to say they loved a bloody good time 🔪😈
