Description

Dr. Olivia Harrington has always been the anchor of her accomplished family. A brilliant surgeon at Harrington Memorial, she prides herself on an impenetrable veneer of control and clinical precision. To the outside world, she is flawless; internally, she is drowning under the weight of unrelenting expectations. When a tragic outcome in the operating room shatters her composure, Olivia realizes she is pushed to the brink of collapse and forced to trade her scalpel for mandatory leave. Seeking isolation, Olivia retreats to the desert, desperate to escape the pressures of her high-stakes life. Instead, she finds herself face-to-face with Emma—a woman who is as grounded as she is fearless. Unlike the colleagues in Olivia’s sterile world, Emma has no reverence for medical titles or professional masks. She sees the woman hiding behind the armor, and her refusal to settle for anything less than raw, unfiltered truth is both terrifying and electric. As their connection deepens, the ice around Olivia’s heart begins to thaw, forcing her to confront whether she can sacrifice her curated identity for the possibility of love. This emotionally charged, steamy romance explores the high cost of perfection and the liberating power of finally letting go.

God this series is amazing

Margaux Fox is a master of emotions. I can honestly say that the intensity of the words in this story are almost too much and yet they are just enough. I read this through tears and then went back and read them again, I was afraid I missed something. This particular story hit me harder than the first three, which I loved. I am going to quote several lines in my next sermon which will be on Pride Day, our breakfast church celebration. To deliver to the congregation the deepest message of “this is whom I am, enjoy my freedom with me, I haven’t always been allowed to”. My connection is deep with the experiences of the MC’s sharing the trauma of stifling pressure to be other than who you are. Thank you Margaux for writing this beautiful and haunting story.
