Description

Giulietta Harrington has spent her entire life crafting a persona of cold, clinical perfection. As a brilliant surgeon, she is untouchable—a woman defined by the career she built in Rome, far from the toxic shadow of the Boston medical dynasty that rejected her. But when she returns to the city of her birth to confront the family secrets she’s long avoided, her carefully controlled world begins to unravel. It starts with one reckless night with Ivy, a sharp-edged tattoo artist who thrives on autonomy and avoids emotional entanglements like the plague. For Ivy, sex is just a physical release, but the chemistry she shares with the elegant, icy Dr. Harrington is anything but casual. It’s an intoxicating clash of opposites that demands more, even as both women fight to keep their distance. When their paths collide again in the high-stakes halls of Harrington Memorial, the friction becomes impossible to ignore. Giulietta must balance the grueling professional pursuit of proving her worth to an empire that never wanted her—all while navigating an addictive, dangerous attraction to the one woman capable of shattering her defenses. In this pulse-pounding tale of buried history and searing desire, the most hazardous risk isn't the truth; it's falling in love.

This story has so much emotion it actually tied me up in knots.

I have enjoyed this entire series, each sister so different yet they all faced the severe emotional stress of their mother’s unobtainable expectations. They each grew into incredibly strong women by the end of their story with the help of their chosen partners. Margaux Fox proves again her mastery as an author!

Pretty good read.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I was not disappointed. The characters were well developed, and the story kept my interest. Being a breast cancer survivor, I can appreciate Ivy’s volunteer work on the victims of this horrid disease. The steamy scenes were well written, and there was very little angst. I appreciate the author’s eloquent style of writing and the way the relationship between Guilietta and Ivy developed was comforting. They made a perfect couple. Well done.
