This is, 100%, the best book of the series so far. Absolutely loved it. Seeing Greeta and Nicola's pov's, seeing them come out and fall closer together (though not without some hiccups along the way), was really wonderful. There are sweet moments, heart wrenching ones, and quite a few that made me laugh as well. Plenty of additional lgbtq rep, as well as more rep for ADHD in particular. Nicola and Greeta's story is the more mature of the three, looking at issues that face woman of that age, and the lives that have brought them to that point.
There is a lot of cameos for Kate, Olivia, Charlotte and Millie as well, and really, this book is a story for all of them, given how much all of them are looked at, as while Nicola and Greeta are the focus (and are the bulk of the story), given their roles as parents of two of the previous mc's their lives are very much intertwined.
Oh, and the last section of the book - loved that it was there, and that we essentially get a wrap up for all of the characters (basically an extended epilogue for the first two books is in there). I have no idea if there will be any more books in this series, but honestly, with the three of them, the series is all wrapped up nicely and complete.
Really, really, enjoyed and so glad that I picked them all up.
A must read series for pure enjoyment
The books of this series are full and complete, very well written, with compelling characters. Dialog is snappy, witty, sassy, and loving. Loved each book which flowed into the next with book 3 being my favorite involving all the previous characters. I want to start over and read them again I enjoyed them so much. Clare Aston is a gifted writer and I’ll read all her books now as they are a gem and hard to find.
Clare Ashton at her absolute best!
This is the kind of book that stays with you!
It delves deep into the complexity of all relationships in a very moving and insightful way. I teared up so many times and felt enlightened and richer in so many ways.
I adore both main characters! They complement each other in both strength and vulnerability in the most exquisite ways.
The plot is masterfully done with impeccable writing, as it’s always the case with Clare Ashton!
An absolute must read!
I think I would have enjoyed this more if Nicola wasn't Charlotte's mommy. That relationship had me glitching like a scratched disk because this may be fiction but some of the conversations and emotions between those two have been real life experiences. So it was freaky. The chemistry between Nicola and Geeta, though, was absolute. I loved the flirting and witty banter. In the beginning, I was so confused because I had refused to read the synopsis since Clare Ashton is one of my must-read authors but I was forced to read it in the end so I could understand.
And that moment when Charlotte finally sat down and had a conversation with her mom, I pray for that, God willing. But still, I didn't like Nicola very much because of her skills. Though I understand where she is or was at after that scene with Geeta. Very eye-opening.
It was a very emotionally beautiful book with a wonderful ending.
Amazing book, a must read!
To say I was blown away by this book is to put it mildly. Meeting Millie was great, I loved Tempting Olivia but this 3rd book in the Oxford series is playing in another league in my mind. It has mid 50’s women as MC’s which is so rare and thus so appreciated and their tension and bantering beyond great to read about. Their unexpected love story, what they experience to make that work and the struggle with their respective daughters so relatable and amazingly written.
I did not love Nicola in the first two books but after reading about why she acted the way she did, understanding her better, she is now the favourite MC in the series. I will think about her and Geeta for such a long time. The epilogue gave me everything I needed to find closure with all the characters in the series.
This is a must read!
