Xed and Matty are everything!
Ever since Xed followed Matty home like a little lost duck in fourth grade they've been each other's other half, partner in crime, ride or die. You never see one without the other, they even share Matty's bed every night so Xed can escape his abusive home life. They've never been separated before, that is until Matty announces that he and his crazy on again/off again girlfriend will be moving away with their daughter, Hannah, as soon as college is over when Matty joins the NFL, leaving Xed behind, heartbroken and lonely. This is a story of second chances after life altering decisions/mistakes.
This book is heavy. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of a journey, jumping back and forth from past to present events to help show you these two characters fully and all their personal struggles. Bree Wiley is an author that writes fragile, broken, and truly flawed characters. They felt so real and I found myself crying, raging, and laughing right along side them as I read their story. This book has a HARD fought HEA but it was sooooooo worth all the tears. Seriously, have tissues within reach. I lost track of how many times I cried.
"Crossing Arizona" was an incredible read. Xed and Matty deserve the world, and I can't wait for more books set in this universe.
