CRAVING THE CHASE: A Dark MM Stalker Romance

I have to own you fully." This was a dark and phenomenal delicious book. Everything I have read by Syn has been amazing. The plot and flow of this story was on par. The characters fleshed out perfectly. My dark heart ate this book up 🖤🖤. I had to question my morals a few times, but in the end, I loved Noah despite everything he did. This book really makes you question your sanity and makes you view both characters from different points of view. This story follows Chase and Noah. Chase is a therapist and Noah is his patient. Noah is a full fleged psychopath. He becomes obsessed with Chase. He stalks him, manipulates him, protects him, and loves him in his own screwed up way. Chase is so touch starved and love starved that he looks past the 100s of red flags.…

I'm not quite sure what I just read, but it was definitely highly entertaining! This isn't a master piece, but I gave it a high rating because it was still really good and held my attention on every page, and I never found myself skipping ahead. Noah is a true psychopath. The author really captured that perfectly. She did her research! She didn't shy away from any of it but did it in a way that didn't leave me feeling sick to my stomach. He's a fictional psychopath who takes you on a dark thrill ride for a little bit but doesn't leave you feeling unsettlingly disturbed in a bad way when the ride is over. This is a good, dark, angsty, and steamy romance that'll definitely entertain in a fun way. There's no dub con or grape, which is sometimes hard to find in these dark romances. I sometimes feel like authors feel that must be in the dark, angsty stuff. But this proves it's not necessary. This is quite explicit with some dark themes, including murder, so just be warned if that's not your thing, don't judge and just move along. Otherwise, I highly recommend this book! Enjoy the ride!

The story itself was quite intriguing and I did find it entertaining (for the most part). However, I think it does lack some realism as it closes out. For starters, the ending felt… very abrupt. The characters were nicely developed, and all credit goes there, but what lesson do either of them learn? Can somebody change their viewpoints on love and murder that seamlessly? It got to the point (around the middle) where it almost became too hard to even believe. How does Chase just… start to become okay with it? Like… if I don’t see it, it’s not happening… And it’s so easy because he was cheated on? The spice was very well written and the characters are easy to follow (especially in their respective POV). But I feel like there really was no character arc, and never planned to be. A big twist, and one I would’ve like to have seen, was Chase ultimately realizing he loves Noah enough to get him help. Imagine: Before they leave for Italy, Chase is like “I love you” and then BAM! Suddenly, Noah is being taken away to get help. It would’ve set a sequel up phenomenally. I’m mixed on this because the premise had so much potential. I love the authors writing, especially with the spice and murdering. But it lacks a realistic narrative for Chase. Or even maybe for Noah, who could’ve started to feel something like love?

A really good stalker book, one of the best. I don't know what else to say, Noah is the perfect psycho, I loved him. I liked both MCs. The story flowed well, too.
