Description

Robyn Voss is a disillusioned journalist grinding away at a local paper, convinced her biggest career challenge is landing a decent quote from a small-town politician. That all changes when she is tapped to tail Senator Caid Masters—a political powerhouse with a pristine image, a polished reputation, and a picture-perfect fiancé. Tasked with shadowing the Senator for a single, grueling campaign day, Robyn expects a tedious exercise in sterile soundbites and practiced handshakes. Instead, she finds herself caught in the magnetic pull of a woman who is far more dangerous than her public persona suggests. The chemistry is immediate, undeniable, and strictly forbidden. They agree to a dangerous game of shadows and stolen moments in the privacy of Caid’s apartment, erecting strict boundaries to protect their professional lives. But as the lines between observer and participant blur, the walls surrounding the icy, guarded Senator begin to crumble. The stakes skyrocket when an anonymous tip exposes cracks in Caid’s flawless facade, forcing Robyn to confront a devastating choice. With their reputations and hearts on the line, Robyn must decide if the truth is worth sacrificing the only person she has ever truly wanted—or if the price of her integrity is a life without the woman who owns it.

when is the power differential too large?

Was the sex exciting? Sort of. Was it consensual? Yes. Was it healthy…no. There can be power differentials in a relationship and in the sexual relationship, but this relationship was demeaning and had a huge power differential. I quit reading the sex and finished the story…still felt not justified
