Description

Life rarely follows a neat, pre-planned timeline, and for one woman in the middle of her life, the most unexpected chapters are just beginning. After years of playing it safe and living within the confines of expectation, she decides it is finally time to embrace her truth—and her desires. Enter the ultimate experiment: ten dates, one grand adventure, and the hope of discovering who she really is outside the shadows. But as she navigates the confusing, exhilarating landscape of midlife dating, the person she least expected to catch her heart is already standing right in front of her. Her oldest friend, a woman who knows her better than anyone, suddenly appears in a whole new light, blurring the lines of a platonic connection that has matured like fine wine. Reba Bale weaves a charming, steamy, and heartfelt narrative about the courage it takes to rewrite your own story. This friends-to-lovers tale celebrates the reality that it is never too late to demand the life you want or to experience the passion you’ve long kept hidden. It is a witty, romantic, and unapologetically bold journey of self-discovery that proves the best romances begin when you finally stop hiding from yourself.

what a cute book

This was really a very cute story. Realizing you’re a lesbian later in life, divorcing your husband of 20 years, telling your daughters, parents, then moving into your sister’s basement. Lot of changes. Your married lesbian sister insists you date 10 women before going on a second date with anyone. Of course some of the dates are hysterical. Think you’ll enjoy this book it was a quick read, will definitely have you laughing.

Short and fun!

The premise of this book is so straight forward. Rebecca, mother of two college age daughters, divorces her husband, and best friend, when she tells him she's a lesbian. She's loved him since high school, but is not in love with him and they both deserve better. It's a very amicable split. Her sister convinces her to go on ten first dates before she can go on a second date with someone because she has no same sex experience. All of their friends and colleagues set up dates for Rebecca. Some of them were ridiculous, some funny and some very adventurous. It's a fun, quick read with a happy ending!

hey, it’s Seattle…

It was the reason why I purchased this novella. I can’t say it was a friends to lovers lesbian trope. They were strangers. So, I am not sure how that tracks. And it also wasn’t truly midlife either. The MC was in her late 30’s. I love lesfic centered around Seattle because I live here. It is nice to hear about familiar places. The first book I read was “Written In The Stars” by a different author and was drawn to it because I took place in Seattle. I liked the concept of 10 dates. Dating women can be tough and is truly hard not to fall too fast and too deep. Rebecca after being married for 18 years realized she was a lesbian. Divorced and started dating. The woman who actually intrigued me wound up being her second date Veronica. That was until she met Heidi. I saw the attraction there but it didn’t seem all that different from Veronica. Except what they did on their first dates that set them apart. All in all, it was a decent story and moved very fast. I’m glad that they both received their true HEA.
