Description

The squared circle of professional wrestling is usually about staged violence and choreographed chaos, but for the Goliaths of the ring, the most dangerous moves happen when the cameras stop rolling. Clean Finish plunges back into this high-stakes world, where the bruises are real and the chemistry is even more explosive. This isn’t just your typical story of brawn and bravado; it is a heartfelt exploration of connection found in the most unlikely of places. As the wrestlers navigate the grueling demands of the industry, they also grapple with vulnerability and the terrifying prospect of letting someone truly see them. The romance here is refreshing—it manages to be deeply sweet without losing its edge, grounding the fantastical allure of monster romance in a realism that feels both intimate and earned. Expect laugh-out-loud banter that captures the camaraderie of the locker room, paired with intense, heart-pounding moments of heat between the leads. At its core, this is a story about finding a soft place to land amidst the body slams. Whether you’re here for the spicy tension or the deeply relatable journey of two hearts finding their rhythm, Clean Finish offers a perfect, high-impact victory.

Syrupy Sweet

Lily Mayne... you've done it again. A friend got me into Lily Mayne through the Monstrous series at the end of last year, and I have been making my way through all of her books so far because I have fallen in love with her. That being said, when she announced a wrestling series, I was so ready. I loved Impromptu Match. It was everything I have came to adore about Lily Mayne's writing style - great characters, humor, good world building. Clean Finish blew me away. It was everything I loved about the first book in the series, but somehow better. I finished it in just over 24 hours. Okay, to be fair, I kind of ignored everything else to read this, BUT, it usually takes me longer to get through a 400+ page book. I just could not put it down. I could already tell that I would love Seb and Larkin from the end of Impromptu Match, but they are easily one of my favorite Lily Mayne couples now. They are just so stinking sweet together. That's the best word I have to describe their relationship. Both of the characters by themselves are absolute sweethearts (iykyk), but together they are somehow even better. I am so obsessed. Foaming at the mouth, if you will. I don't want to say too much about them because you should seriously just find out for yourself. It's so worth it. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It's honestly one of the best romances I have read to date - and I read a lot of romance. Do yourself a favor and go read it. Treat yourself.

More please

I was a little more prepared going into book 2 having read book 1. I was ready for the ridiculous banter, the even more ridiculous creatures and the ongoing world/character building. What I absolutely was not prepared for was the level of spice in this book. Holy cow! (I was here for every.single.moment.of.it.) This one is focused on an idiot in love and the one pining for him. Both are adorable and they enter into a kind of teacher/student "arrangement" and WOW does our idiot get taught. I love the world of Goliaths Wrestling. I think Mayne has set herself up for endless books in this series based on the sheer amount of interesting creatures/wrestlers she's created. Their group dynamic is fantastic and yet they each have their own defined personalities. Read it. Blush furiously. Read it some more.

Great Read Lite and Fluffy

Larkin Larkin Larkin is the sweetest little baby ever. Honestly, this book gave me Daddy/Boy vibes so much, and I could not get enough. Seb is totally Daddy Wolf, a caretaker. I loved how they just fit together, even though they are very opposite. I did not see Larkin as being... well, I will not spoil it. "Wink, wink. "It was an unexpected twist that I found to be realistic and adorable. Larkin is that one friend who just talks without thinking and must be protected at all times because he has a heart of gold. Seb took such good care, and we all kind of knew he was in love with Suga Plum Larkin. It's nice that Lily shows that even monsters can be self-conscious of their bodies like everyone else, and it only takes the right person loving you for you to see that you're not just cute; we all have beautiful flaws and all. I am glad we got to meet the families. Larkins' parents are the best. This book had me laughing and feeling all kinds of mushy. Thank you, Lily. I love a sweet story with high spice levels. Trust me, Seb is a beast in the sheets.

Sweet & steamy!

Clean Finish by Lily Mayne is the 2nd book in the Goliaths of Wrestling series. This book was so sweet & so much fun to read! Even more hilarious antics from the monster wrestlers! While incredibly entertaining and immensely s3xy (so hot!), the story is first and foremost a romance. This cute co-workers to f* buddies to friends and lovers story features the fae ray of sunshine assistant, Larkin & the stoic werewolf bodyguard, Seb. It's a really beautiful slow burn love & I became totally enamored from the start! It's got me super excited for the next one! Romance - 5/5 Steam - 5/5 Humor - 4/5 Angst - 3/5 Writing - 5/5

The book of my dreams!

This book might be the ultimate heart warmer. For those of you who want extreme coziness this book is it! It’s 100% sweet without being saccharine. These two boys have broken into my Mount Rushmore of favorite MCs ever! Seb is the most darling werewolf to ever live. This boy’s pining is set at expert level and he’s nothing but the perfect, patient, compassionate match for Larkin. A totally clueless dork, Larkin is dealing with late bloomer issues and body insecurities but finds his confidence and authentic desires during his time spent with Seb. Their simple hang-outs, from bread making to crossword puzzle solving, are lovely and pure. The bedroom scenes are tonally perfect, soft yet also hot. These two just fit together so well! Beyond Seb and Larkin, Lily Mayne has built a world that feels so unique, safe and welcoming. Although this book is less goofy than the first, there’s no shortage of funny moments amongst the magical cast. Also, I want Larkin’s hippie family to adopt me. Anyway, I cannot recommend this series and this book enough!
