Description

Razor Slade was never designed to endure the brutality of prison, yet he remains trapped in a volatile world where loyalty is a lethal luxury and power is the only currency. His reputation as an untouchable force shields him from the common threats, but it provides no protection against the shadow players orchestrating his ultimate destruction. His true weakness isn’t something he carries in his pocket; it’s the man who holds his heart: Tristan Hale-Fitzroy. For Tristan, a brilliant and ambitious barrister, reconnecting with Razor’s case is a professional death wish. He is poised on the brink of a golden future, but the deeper he delves into the corruption surrounding Razor’s incarceration, the more his polished life begins to fracture. To save the man he loves, Tristan must risk everything he’s sacrificed to achieve—his reputation, his career, and his safety. Caught between the suffocating walls of the penitentiary and the treacherous politics of the courtroom, Razor and Tristan must navigate a landscape of obsession and moral decay. In this explosive finale to the Pretty Poison trilogy, the lines between justice and control shatter, leaving them to decide if their connection is a liability or the only truth in a world built on lies.

It kept me glued

I literally waited for this third and final book in the series to hit my reader which it did around 9pm the night before it was expected and I started it immediately. My chores were put on hold for two days. Nice ending to a very long journey for Tristan and Razor. Lots of page turning suspense. Proof that love knows no rules or boundaries between the rich and poor. The cautious and eventual acceptance by Tristan’s wealthy family was most welcome as was the eventual poetic justice for Mr. Wolfe who was a corrupt wealthy scumbag. C F White seems to have become my favorite author of late and I look forward to more.

An end to a long journey

Razor/ Richie is sitting in prison, without any representation, more or less rotting. Tristan can't stand it, can't just leave him even though Richie has pushed everyone away, thinking he's poison and not worth it. But love doesn't work that way. It's a long journey to freedom full of pain and assault for them both, betrayal yet also strong friendship, threats and disdain. It's a denied love that gives them something to work for and hold on for, to strive for. I loved the ending which both deserved, a second chance.

Finally together

This has been a compelling series with nail-biting events in this book that directly affect each MC. Stuck in prison on remand with no real charges backed by evidence, Richie/Razor must literally have eyes in the back of his head and constantly fight for survival as he waits to see what the next step for him will be. Tristan is never far from his thoughts, but those keep him aware and fighting for the possible chance to see Tristan again, even though he knows how remote that is likely to be. Refusing any contact with his family to protect them, he lives a wary, lonely existence in limbo within the prison system. Tristan is on the outside, now a full-fledged junior barrister, complete with gown and wig, able to fight cases in court. He has chosen defense, whereas his father is still a Crown prosecutor, causing some friction. He has had no contact with Richie since the day he was arrested, but keeps an eye on what is happening with him, and when Richie’s defense team quits, Tristan makes it his mission to get Richie representation, hopefully with Tristan on the team. He can see Richie, but there must be no evidence of an emotional connection between them, or all bets are off for Tristan to help. Both men must keep a tight hold on their emotions when in the same space. As the danger for Richie rises in the prison, Tristan leads the fight for bail, knowing that is the only way to protect him and keep him safe. But he has learned that justice is not blind, unscrupulous people…

Finally claiming each other once and for all

This author has made my head spin once again in this third and final installment to the Pretty Posion series. Here we have Ritchie in prison and having pushed everyone away as he doesn't feel worth anyone being by his side. But of course Tristan can't let it go with the man he loves rotting away and in possible danger. Razor's name gives him some weight in prison but it's different inside than on the streets. Loyalties shift all the time and power is what people seek most. And the fact they know he has a weakness in Tristan makes things worse. This is a book filled with ups and downs, betrayals, yearning and untangling the web for a chance for Ritchie and Tristan to have hope for some kind of future together. I hate that they were separated for most of this book but both fought for the other throughout and always had each other in their hearts. When the author says this is a fiercely earned HEA they were right. No one deserves as much of a happy ending as Ritchie and Tristan do and I'm so happy to have been able to go on this crazy as heck journey with them through the bad, worse and good.

A Fantastic series that I couldn't put down.

(Pretty Poison-3) Claim by CF White Look inside at the triggers. I'm going to put some, but if you want to know them all, go to the author's website. M/M Romance Morally Grey Mc Thriller Prison Dark Romance I have been very lucky to have had the chance to read this series. I love well-written thrillers with dark romance on top of it. These are the first books I have read by this author, but they won't be the only ones I read, that's for sure. The way CF White wrote this twisty story was so well done that I just fell into the story and didn't want to come back out lol. I wanted so much for these MCs and just couldn't put any of the books down because I had to see what would happen next. My Partner new to leaving me alone so I could read till I found out what happened lol. He is a good man, that's for sure. I loved the way Razor was written, the info about the man he was and is. There are power shifts along with loyalty. He needs to stay strong and show no weakness because others are watching to see if he shows any weaknesses. Tristan, a barrister, is the man who makes him feel weakness the longer he is in his life. I loved the way these two MC ups and downs unfolded. The intrigue in this story was red hot. I couldn't put it down till the last word. I just know I have to read more by this author. Nicole Harvey
