Description

Life at Beaker Brothers Ranch is defined by the steady rhythm of chores, the bleating of sanctuary animals, and the sweet companionship of miniature cows. For the local cowboy known for his tireless work ethic and quiet demeanor, the ranch is more than just a job; it is a fortress. Behind his gentle smile lies a hidden past: he is the vanished heir to a massive fortune, a man who traded the suffocating expectations of a billionaire dynasty for the anonymity of rural life after coming out. He had planned to lean into the chaos of the ranch’s annual Christmas experience and vanish before anyone could unravel his identity. But his resolve begins to crumble the moment Hayden steps onto the property. Radiant, inquisitive, and refreshingly sincere, Hayden cuts through the cowboy’s defensive walls with an effortless grace that turns lonely, chilly nights into moments of simmering chemistry and heartfelt intimacy. As the pressure of his old life mounts, the cowboy is forced to confront a terrifying truth: he no longer wants to be invisible. In the high-stakes dance between his hidden reality and a burgeoning romance, he must decide if the love he’s found is worth the risk of being truly seen.

Great!

This story is just adorable, both the people and the animals. Connor works on the ranch and he has a big secret. Hayden comes to visit and write a review of the ranch. Sparks fly between them almost immediately but they have some big things to work out.

Cowboy ❤️ City boy

City boy and cowboy. Love this trope with a twist, since of course we know Connor was once a city boy himself, and a billionaire at that! Both MCs had me rooting for them, both as separate characters, and together as a couple. I was happy to see that the secrets they were keeping from each other didn’t cause too much angst when they were revealed. I mean, who doesn’t love a book with a bunch of adorable animal side characters?! I was so happy to hear more about all of them since they’re were a highlight from book 1 for me. 3rd act drama broke my heart for Connor! But the way the Beaker family “rescued” him was everything! I love that the author chose it to go that way instead of Hayden being the one to go after him. The resolution of all of this was truly enjoyable with no major drama.

fun holiday read

We are back at the Beaker Brothers ranch just in time for the holidays. Connor has been working here for ten years hiding from his past and a life he never wanted to live, he's content running Cuddle Cove at the ranch and taking care of the animals. Hayden is sent to Beaker Brothers for their Christmas Experience to write a review that no one knows he's doing. The chemistry is instant, the draw of the ranch pulls Hayden to find peace from city living. These two just allow each other to open up and talk and when their truths come out, both men are understanding and accepting of the other. The ranch has a way of pulling in lost souls animals and humans alike to show them what it is like to be accepted and loved as you are. When Connors past comes to light, he finds a way along with his assistant to make it work for everyone. A fun hearted low angst read just right for the holiday season. With a beautiful set up for the next story in the series I cannot wait to see how Matthew finds a way to tame Atlas.

so good

Cabins Cows Critics is the second book in the Beaker Brothers Ranch series, it can be read as a standalone but is better in order. This is a hurt/comfort, opposites attract, hidden identity, small town read about Hayden and Connor. I mostly enjoyed this story, it just has a 3rd act breakup and I'm not a fan of that, characters were great.
