Description

For years, Asher has kept his heart under lock and key. As a closeted hockey player for the Vipers, his life is a delicate balancing act of playing the professional athlete while hiding the scars left by his mother’s abusive partners. His one sanctuary? Theo, his golden-boy best friend whose sunshine disposition is the only thing keeping Asher grounded. But when a violent run-in with his mother’s boyfriend leaves Asher broken and vulnerable, the sanctuary of Theo’s bed turns the entire dynamic of their friendship on its axis. Theo has always been the life of the party, but lately, the only person he wants to focus on is his emerald-eyed best friend. He’s spent years teasing Asher about his red curls and dismissing his own intense pull toward him as mere admiration. However, upon discovering the hidden trauma Asher has endured, Theo’s protective instincts roar to life. The realization hits him hard: he doesn’t just want to be Asher’s protector; he wants to be his everything. Trapped between the fear of rejection and the intensity of their growing connection, can these two teammates bridge the divide? Break the Ice is a poignant, high-stakes exploration of healing, buried secrets, and the terrifying, beautiful risk of falling for your best friend.

🏒Nothing is going to stop me from loving you. Our love is stronger than their hate🏒

"You are anything but average. I don't want to hear you say things like that about yourself. You're truly amazing in every way possible. You're a gift, Asher." "Because our rights were worth fighting for, love was worth fighting for, and Asher was the love of my life. I knew I'd fight for him until the day I died." This was such an amazing book. I was really looking forward to reading this after I read Step Into The Zone. This book had me in my feels and emotions the whole time. I loved the timeline and flow of this story. Seeing the back story about how all these boys met before the Vipers was everything! Blane really knocked it out of the park with this one 😌. The hockey in this story was done perfectly. The hurt/comfort aspect was top notch! This story follows Theo and Asher. You met them as friends in the first book. This book you see how they first met and how close they end up becoming. These two were precious. They end up going to college together to play hockey for the same team and room together. Asher has been in love with Theo since he met him. Theo is straight and oblivious to most things 🤣. Especially since he has a thing for women who looked exactly like Asher 😅. Theo was such a golden retriever himbo. God I loved that sweet cinnamon roll. Asher was more quiet, guarded, and hid everything about his life. My heart hurt for this poor, broken boy. He went through so much and alone. Theo eventually finds out what's been going on and swoops in and saves him.…

Hockey players, I can't seem to get enough

This was both fun and emotional. I can't even imagine what Red had to went through his live growing up. But I'm SOOOOOOOOO happy that the Moretti family showed him what unconditional love is ❤️ Sometimes I wanted to scream at my screen and yell "C'MON MAN LOOK WHAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!!!!“ or "please open up about how you are feeling!" But that is exactly why I love slow-burn romance ❤️😅 And lastly, one of my favorites tropes 'found family'.. the time they spend at the cottage ❤️ hockey players and cottage's 😂

Such an amazing story!!!

Overall it was an amazing story, filled with spice, humor, over coming difficult battles, and of course the best HEA! Not gonna lie, in the beginning I had Theo pegged as a pig and an alcoholic. Glad o was proved wrong!!! Some scenes in the book were a little cringy and they seemed to profess their love for one another a little too much and that messed with the flow of the chapters in my opinion. (pretty boy is an okay nickname but Big Boy and Sweet Baby made me cringe a little inside every time I read the words!!) over all I still give it 4.5/5 ⭐️

Emotional journey with Asher and Theo 💙

If you are looking for an emotional story about finding love after growing up in a destructive and abusive home, prepare yourself for a story that will bring tears to your eyes, but will also show the power of friendship, love and self-confidence. From friends to lovers, Theo and Asher were a wonderful match. For me, the most memorable moments in this story were when Asher fought the demons of his past and went a long way to deal with certain issues. But what a journey it was. We also have great friends who show up to save the day and lighten the mood, Theo's supportive and loud family, quite a bit of hockey and spicy scenes. All of that makes the book incredibly engaging. And Theo is big, green flag boyfriend, I could kiss him, he was so wonderful to Asher. I devoured the book in two evenings and I would love to visit Asher and Theo again.
