Description

Pine Valley College is an institution built on prestige, secrets, and a long-standing legacy that demands total devotion. For Laila “Lally” Stewart, however, the campus is becoming a trap. Struggling to process the gut-wrenching loss of her best friend, Lally is spiraling into a haze of recklessness and isolation. When the administration threatens to expel her, she is forced into a corner, leading her toward a dangerous underground challenge known as Risk. In the high-stakes world of this clandestine game, the rewards are tempting, but the price of entry is perilously high. Alice Anders has spent years nursing a silent, unrequited love for Lally, watching from the sidelines as the girl of her dreams pulls away. Desperate to drag Lally back from the edge, Alice makes a decision that changes everything: she enters the game alongside her. As they navigate the toxic culture and hidden agendas lurking within Pine Valley, the mission to save Lally evolves into a fight for survival. Amidst the shadows and cutthroat competition of the academy, boundaries blur and tensions boil over. Will their bond be strong enough to withstand the darkness, or will the game leave them with nothing but bleeding hearts?

Love these narrators, perfectly done!

I don't read or listen to a lot of F/F but I am always game if the story sounds fantastic and I was already invested in these two after listening to books 1 and 2 of Pine Valley. I needed to see them get their HEAs after what Lally and Alice had been through and especially what they went through in this crazy rollercoaster of life and death situations, not exaggerating here! I won't give things away because not knowing what was going to happen next int the fatal dame of Risk was half of the intrigue. I don't know how this author does it, all these scenes pop in her head and she does such a good job putting us in that situation in our minds eye, imagining what the characters are going through and hoping they get out in one piece. Some of the other participants definitely don't so be prepared for that! I loved seeing Lally let go and let Alice back in after what happened with Tommy. She took it the hardest and I am glad Alice never stopped being there for her even if she kept pushing her away. I wanted to shake the other friends but they finally got involved in the intervention and was there for Lally like they should have been from the beginning. The steam in this one was hot, but I found the connection stronger and the adorable and romance moments from powerful between Lally and Alice. How they would sacrifice for each other if necessary, their love was so strong and #goals. I hope these two have a quiet rest of their life, they went through way too many bad situations and…

Heavy Grief

I felt this book in my bones. The weight of grief that Lally carried throughout the story was heavy. It was heartbreaking to know that losing a friend/brother could literally bring her to her knees in the worst possible way. Depression almost drowned Lally until Alice decided to fight for her. Alice love never wavered even when Lally was awful to her. Alice is the true definition of a ride or die girlfriend. Loved that the boys supported both girls even when they didn’t know what was going on. I was super happy when the girls became lover because everyone deserves to be love. I would recommend this book to anyone who is ever crippled by grief. I gave this book 4 stars because of how real and relatable a lot of the issues were. I love the found family trope so much in this series. One more book to go.

💕 Lally & Alice 💕

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 This book gave me exactly what I was hoping for in a sapphic romance, dark college vibes, heartache, friendships that hurt in the best way. Lally is consumed by grief and guilt, spiraling into self destructive behavior while pushing away the people who care about her. Alice, on the other hand, has had feelings for Lally since the start of their friendship. When Lally becomes desperate for money, she enters a dangerous underground game called Risk, and Alice refuses to stand on the sidelines. She’s willing to risk her life and her heart to keep Lally safe, even when Lally is determined to push her away. I loved show much they both loved each other and how willing they both were to risk it all. I also loved getting more of the Pine Valley crew again Alek, Evan, Bones, and Skyler. The friendships, banter, and loyalty adds a special touch to the series. ✨What to expect Dark College Romance Sapphic (F/F) Friends to Lovers Second Chance Hurt/Comfort Grumpy/Sunshine Touch her and die Obsessive/Possessive Dirty Talk Praise + Begging + Strap on

KA Knight’s writing hooked me, and I’ll definitely be back for more!!

🎀 “Why do I miss your hate as soon as it's gone? It's better than this... silence. I can handle you hating me, but I can't handle you leaving me.” ⭐️ 3.5 | 🌶️ 4 This story follows Lally and Alice.... friends who are slowly, painfully, become something more. Both are grieving a devastating loss but in completely opposite ways Alice has withdrawn into herself more while Lally spirals into self destruction mode and becomes a threat to herself The story also weaves in The Risk which is an extreme, high stakes competition with challenges that end with life or death. Lally's back and forth with Alice did wear on me a bit But looking back,??... it felt true to her journey. Healing and self love are messy and we see that first hand here. you want to throttle her at times but it makes her growth so much more powerful when it finally comes. I also REALLY REALLY loved how their friends stood by Lally (after Alice lets them know what's going on). Even when she pushed and pulled consistently her friends never let go of her hand. They didn’t try to fix her... they just stayed, and that hit me hard. Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I haven’t read the first two in the series, but I followed along just fine (though now I wish I had read them first!!! i really like these characters). KA Knight’s writing hooked me, and I’ll definitely be back for more!!

Bleeding Hearts Book 3

Bleeding Hearts is book 3 in the Pine Valley College series. This is my first time reading a book from K.A. Knight and I have to say I’m looking forward to reading more of their books which I already put on my TBR!! I will definitely be checking out the other books on the series as well. After Tommy’s death Lally started spiraling and Alice was the only one that noticed it. She was failing her classes so she signed up for a game called RISK. The winner would win 1 million and she definitely needed the money to help pay for her classes. When Alice who has been in love with Lally since they met finds out that Lally has entered the dangerous RISK game she also signs up to protect Lally. I really liked how Alice never gave up on Lally. It showed how much she loved and cared for her. They both really loved one another and I am glad they have each other!! The spice between them was spicing for real🥵 The story sure did have enough twist and turns to keep me turning the pages and on the edge of my seat. The RISK game sure had me gasping every time! I also liked the other characters and the bond they all had. The ending was beautiful. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one!
