Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better than My Captain Sage Riven proves me wrong. This book was so freaking good. Different kind of hockey, deranged in the best way. Loved the MCs and their band of misfits. The way Rafe put Julian back together…no words. I love how Rafe made Julian’s scumbag ex pay. The one thing that I didn’t like in the story and had be baffled was how Rafe and the others kept feeding Jule’s addiction. Like so unnecessary when Rafe could have kept him clean but he seemed to like keeping him addicted. At that rate Jules will never be clean. I hope the others get a book. I am so intrigued by Kai and Luca.

The hockey is hockey and the love is there
This story is dark, but it’s gorgeous! If you love hockey books where the hockey is played in the romances romancing this book is one of those books where you get sucked in and don’t get out until the last
This book came in hot and never let up. If you’re expecting a slow burn hockey romance…you’re in the wrong locker room. This is fast, intense, and borderline reckless in the best way.
The connection between the main characters is immediate and explosive—more like a collision than a build. There’s no dancing around feelings here; it’s raw attraction, sharp edges, and a constant push into dangerous territory. The chemistry is instant and consuming, with just enough emotional volatility to keep everything feeling unpredictable.
And honestly? The hockey feels more like a backdrop than the main event—but it works. The real story leans into darker, grittier territory, especially with those mafia elements woven in. That added layer of danger gives the romance higher stakes and a constant sense that everything could spiral at any moment.
What stood out most was how unapologetically chaotic it is. Power plays, blurred lines, morally gray choices—it doesn’t try to clean anything up, and that’s exactly why it hits. The characters feel messy and human, driven by impulse, loyalty, and desire in ways that aren’t always pretty but are always compelling.
The romance itself is intense, possessive, and a little bit unhinged—in a way that totally fits the world. It’s not soft or slow; it’s sharp, fast, and addictive.
If you like your MM romances with high heat, danger lurking in the background, and a plot that feels like it could go off the rails at any second, this one absolutely…
