Description

Dr. Maxwell York is the human equivalent of a sterile, perfectly calibrated scalpel. As the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at St. Jude’s, he is defined by his rigid protocols and icy composure. To Max, life—and surgery—is about structure, silence, and absolute control. He certainly doesn’t have room for input from someone like Dr. Jax O’Connell. Enter the hospital’s "Trauma Cowboy." With his mud-caked Jeep, penchant for cranking classic rock in the operating room, and a blatant disregard for administrative red tape, Jax is everything Max loathes. When a department merger forces these two polar opposites into a single shared office, a line of painter’s tape is the only thing keeping the peace, providing a fragile border between Max’s pristine order and Jax’s beautiful, chaotic energy. What begins as a clash of personalities quickly evolves into a high-stakes game of push-and-pull. Jax is determined to rattle the Ice King, while Max finds his calculated world unraveling in ways he never anticipated. Amidst the frantic pace of the hospital, the friction between them evolves from sheer irritation into an undeniable, scorching chemistry. In the intense world of St. Jude’s, they are about to learn that sometimes, the most effective medicine is the kind that breaks all the rules.

A funny cute story

🩺BOOK REVIEW🩺 I read Bedside Manner by C.G. Macington ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 stars) Synopsis: We follow Dr. Maxwell York, chief of cardiothoracic surgery, very type A, meticulous, and is known as “the Ice King” around the hospital. The very opposite of Dr. Jax O’Connell, head of trauma and lives his life chaotically. When a merger happens, both these doctors find themselves in the same vicinity working together, clashing, but quickly see that there’s more than meets the eye. Review: What a cute, funny, heartfelt story! Another fun surprise book that I randomly found and so glad I read it because this book was so good! This healed my gay Grey’s Anatomy and 911 heart. If you’re a fan of either of those tv shows, you will love this book. This book was so stinking cute and funny! I mean I laughed out loud numerous times and was so overcome with joy. The way these two bump heads and the banter very early on had me smiling from ear to ear. Complete opposites and both pushing each other boundaries I was thoroughly enjoying it. There’s a lot of medical usage and terminology, my own knowledge of that is very limited but the things I did know, was cool to read more about it and seeing how the author incorporated that into the story. Now my only gripe with this book is I wish it was longer! I mean it’s a short read at 206 pages, but I think a longer story with more banter between both the MC’s and more angst would’ve made the story so much more better ( a very small complain because I…

How believable is this?

It's a far stretch to see this as real . This was not a slow burn but fire out of control. It's like Cinderella meets Cinder fellow ! Hey it is fantasy that requires suspension of this actually being real. However, this is hilarious, touching , emotional and leaves me with a smile at the end. I 'm on to the next fantasy in this feel good sappy series .

Loved it

This was a heartwarming story. The author did great creating tension and humor. Each character was distinct and it was fun to see them run up against each other. The moments of vulnerability were great and I love that there wasn't a bunch of game playing and dancing around feelings.

Meh

I’d say the first half was okay, then it just kinda fell off. Also why am I reading anything from Preston’s pov? Threw me off, I finished it simply because I hate DNF books in my collection.

Medicine and grumpy /sunshine for all

This was so much fun. It was a perfect break from the heavier books I have read. " What are you thinking, Chief?" Jax whispers. "I am thinking," I say, leaning in to brush my lups against his ear, "that I have never liked the chaotic variable." The perfect grumpy/ sunshine medical book. " He looks like a rock star who crashed a funeral." There is angst, there is pain, there is the proverbial over achieving mother. But there is great writing, and wonderful MCs, a great father and more books if you want them.
