Description

Arthur is a man defined by rigid expectations and a life built on compromise. As an older, seasoned professional, he has spent years suppressing his true desires, burying his protective instincts beneath a mask of stoic responsibility. His world is predictable, quiet, and profoundly lonely until a chance encounter with Leo shatters his carefully constructed boundaries. Leo is caught in the midst of a turbulent, beautiful transition, desperately searching for the courage to shed his old skin and embrace his true self. When he crosses paths with Arthur, he finds something he didn’t know he needed: a steady hand, a calm presence, and a man who sees him not for who he was, but for who he is meant to become. As the two navigate the complexities of identity, trust, and the profound vulnerability of starting over, an unexpected bond forms—one that is both deeply paternal and intensely passionate. Lincoln Mercer delivers an emotionally charged journey of awakening, exploring themes of belonging and the bravery required to love without limits. This is a story about finding the missing piece of your soul in someone who is willing to help you build a new life from the ground up.

Absolutely beautiful story!

Have you ever read a book and the characters just stick with you? Like you related to them in so many ways that it was impossible to let them go? That’s how it was with Sam and Cameron for me. From start to finish these guys had me captivated. The more they shared of themselves, the more I could relate to them. And let me tell you.. it was everything. In this book, you’ll find an avid romance reader and an Indie author on a journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance, healing, and love. Watching them navigate through all these things separately while also trying to navigate through their relationship dynamic was remarkable. And holy. crap. The spice was SPICY. Like, catch your kindle on fire kinda hot. I was SO here for it. This book gave me ALL the feels. Like every single one. It was the absolute BEST roller coaster of emotions. I laughed and cried. I was happy and frustrated at times. But every single thing was worth it for their HEA. I just loved everything about this book. The writing is absolutely incredible and the characters are amazing. Like literally all of them. The side characters are just as good as the MC. Lincoln came in with a bang with his debut novel and I can’t wait to see what else he writes. 10/10 recommend.

Swoon Worthy

This was my first Daddy/Boy book and I really enjoyed it. I was so scared to read this because my son's name is Cameron lol. Sam and Cameron are so sweet and so in love. One of the things I loved most about this book is at the end there is a list of terms used and their definitions. I knew all of them thankfully why reading but this would be super for someone who is not familiar with trans terms. I also really loved their friend group! I cannot wait to read Tristan's story! He is so much fun! Great read, super sweet and nice and spicy!!!

Probably my new favorite book

This book was amazing. Sam and Cameron are such complex fully developed characters. They have beautiful flaws that make them feel so real. This didn't feel like reading a book, it felt like reading about two real people falling in love. The chemistry between them is magnetic and the spicy scenes are so hot. The writing is amazing, I just loved everything about this book. On a personal note this was especially impactful to me as a non binary person. Seeing Sam accept himself and find friends and family who love him exactly as he is was inspiring. Reading about his gender euphoria made me bawl with joy. It's been many years since I've been so obsessed with a book, but this is one I know will stick with me for the rest of my life

Refreshing and sweet trans awakening romance with spice

This was such an endearing story of how Sam fan-boyed over Cameron and experienced his light bulb moment thanks to Cameron's books and showed the showed the struggles trans men might experience when coming out and living their true lives. Not every journey is the same, as is illustrated in this book. Also great side characters, Alex and Tristan really are the best friends Sam and Cameron needed to rely on and I was a bit sorry that their role diminished so much in the second half of the book. Daddy/boy kink and especially the humiliation part isn't my favorite type of kink, but I really liked how the importance of communication was highlighted and not only in "playing" but also for the development of the relation between Sam and Cameron. This type of stories about coming out, self discovery, acceptancy, found family... is what drew me this genre in the first place. It is interesting to witness someones thinking proces, how the experience the world, what struggles they face. Yes, maybe it all was a bit "too good to be true" even with their struggles of conquering their insecurities, self-image or the rejection by family etc, but that's why we read romance novels no? To escape, dream, live vicariously through the MC's and know that in the end they'll end up with an HEA. But that is the strength of these kinds of books, to be educated about certain subjects in a pleasurable and easy accessible way. The introduction of the author really added to my experience of this book.

Powerful

When Sam reads a book from their favorite author, all pieces slide into place, and they start their journey on becoming a man. Cameron, having been burned in the past, has had issues opening up to people, and that is why a pen pal relationship is what he needed to start something real. This may be a slow burn for the initial meeting, but oh boy, when they get to be face to face magic. Sam is the perfect daddy for Cameron, even if Cameron does take longer than Sam deserves to get there. What I appreciated most of this book was that the author addressed transphobia in multiple points to connect these men on many levels. The way they were brought up both hindered and enabled them to ge to this place at this time. Mix in some great dom/sub play, and you are in for a uniquely deep and powerful daddy/boy story with two trans MCs! This was my first read from Lincoln Mercer, and if they keep up with this style, it sure will not be my last.
