Description

A decade after the events that forged their unconventional family, life in the Wildes has reached a hard-won harmony. Raised by four devoted mothers—Roishin, Enori, Elsie, and Isla—young Brin and her sister Mariota grow up in a world of relative peace. But stability is fleeting when Josh Banks, a man from the modern era, stumbles into the forbidden Baheoch lands, unknowingly sparking the threat of an all-out war. To recover Josh and prevent catastrophe, a daring rescue party is assembled. Among them is Riley, a modern-day tour guide and rare survivor of the Wildes. Abducted by the ominous Ankou, Riley is forced to lead the team back into the nightmare she once escaped. As the mission unfolds, Riley finds herself confronted by ghosts of her past and an undeniable connection to Kazia, the woman she once loved in a different lifetime. Meanwhile, as destiny weaves its threads, the miraculous emergence of Brielle from the depths of Ryarch forces Isabeau to finally confront the promises she has held within her soul for centuries. Caught between ancient duties and the complexities of human hearts, the characters must navigate a dangerous path where love, redemption, and survival collide in this gripping second installment of the Bowhar series.

Another amazing entry into this epic series. Not to be missed!

It was wonderful seeing what Roishin and Enori have helped build in Bowhar. Not only do we see them rebuilding and organizing the people of the land, which is important, but also the home they have built there for themselves and their family. They both seem so down to earth at home, just working mothers coming together for each other and to raise their daughters, who's other jobs happen to be the title "Queen". I enjoyed the dissappearance of Josh in "present day" as it expanded the world even more and brought Riley into the story. As Riley steps up to lead the rescue mission into the Wilds I enjoyed getting to know her, and seeing what an incredible human she is. She's far more than the people around her all her life gave her credit for. The futher the mission takes them, the more we learn just how extrodinary all of the members of the party are, from their personalities, their bravery and their unique gifts. I loved watching Brielle getting to know her family after such a long time away. She's missed so damn much and deserves to have happiness again. We'd seen what an amazing mother she could be to Enori and Mary before the first war, now we can see her shine in the role of grandmother. Isabeau really "comes of age" in this book, for so long she's been the "little sister", now she is a young woman, finished her schooling and training and ready to get on with her life. Along the way, all of the things she comes to understand about herself and what Macha's gift means,…
