Description

Stone and Hanlon were never meant to be anything more than stepbrothers, but the mountain has a way of erasing boundaries. After four years of stifling silence and thousands of miles of distance, Stone has finally found his rhythm as a ski patroller at Ricochet Ridge. He left home to escape the pressure of his gilded family life and the confusing gravity of Hanlon’s presence. But when Hanlon arrives at the station for an internship, the past doesn’t just come knocking—it crashes down like a winter storm. Hanlon is determined to prove his independence despite the physical limitations caused by his diagnosis, yet he’s always been tethered to Stone, the one person who truly saw him. As they forced into proximity, the old resentment Stone nurtured begins to thaw, replaced by a fierce, protective instinct that quickly turns into something far more dangerous. Trapped in the high-stakes isolation of the ski slopes, their shared history and hidden desires create a volatile atmosphere. With their parents’ disapproval hanging over them like a looming avalanche, Stone and Hanlon must decide if the thrill of a forbidden connection is worth fracturing their family forever, or if they are destined to be buried by the truth.

Another amazing installment of Ricochet Ridge!!

Stone Addario is the leader of the avalanche search and rescue team on Ricochet Ridge, and he loves his job. Until he finds out that his long lost stepbrother, Hanlon, is on his way out to RR to do an internship on the mountain alongside him. Hanlon is wary of seeing his older stepbrother again. They were never super close, and he always felt like a burden to Stone due to his mild cerebral palsy. He's also a little angry at Stone, considering the second he turned 18, he left Vermont and moved all the way to the other side of the country, barely speaking to Han again. Now Stone is his boss, and their animosity makes it hard to work together. But for some reason, even though Stone has never really felt an attraction to anyone before, his stubborn, sexy stepbrother is awakening all sorts of feelings inside him. But the two men know that there are so many things stacked against them: their family ties, the fact that Stone is Han's boss, and so much more. But unfortunately, the heart wants what the heart wants, and this is a risk that they're willing to take. *happy sigh* I just love Ricochet Ridge. Every single story, though always different, is just so good. Stone and Han had immediate (angry) chemistry, amazing banter, and when they decided they wanted each other, they were all in and totally obsessed. And the way Jillian writes spice? It hits so good every single time. Han's physical limitations were written in a really great way. He didn't allow his disease to hinder…

🩶Stone & Hanlon🩶

🏔 👓 🌬 I don’t know what Jillian puts in her books, but every single one I’ve read is completly addictive! Avalanche was a one-day, couldn’t put it down kind of read, the kind where you start reading faster just to see what happens next. Stone and Hanlon are stepbrothers, and from the start, their relationship is complicated. Their parents tried to force a bond when they were kids, it only created resentment. Especially with the pressure put on Stone and the way Hanlon was treated differently because of his cerebral palsy. When Stone turned 18 he left and rarely made visits home. After years of being apart, Hanlon ends up in Ricochet Ridge for an internship studying Avalanches… working with Stone. Being back together brings back the resentment, but now that they are older, there is a new kind of tension between them. And let me tell you, the tension, the banter between these two, the push, the pull, the slow shift in their dynamic and the different way they start to see each other, its intense but it all just builds so well. Hanlon was especially surprising. He comes across as this quiet, science-focused guy, but in the bedroom he is anything but quiet. The mouth on this man!! 🫠 I was laughing, kicking my feet, gasping, sitting at the edge of my seat, this book had me feeling all the things! Avalanche is the 7th book this year I've read by Jillian and she ALWAYS delivers that perfect mix of angst, swoon and spice! Its completely addicting! Check it out! You do…

Stone & Hanlon ❤️

I absolutely adored these two and I already want more! Avalanche has officially claimed the top spot of my favorite in this series so far! From the first page, I was hooked. First of all… stepbrothers. Say less. Add in the THICK tension between Stone and Hanlon and I’m sold. Sign me up. These two have a history that’s messy, complicated, and just a bit heartbreaking. Hanlon’s mild cerebral palsy led their parents to handle him with kid gloves, which in turn left Stone feeling overlooked and resentful. And those feelings don’t just disappear overnight. Fast forward after years of silence, and they’re suddenly thrown back together when Hanlon lands an internship at Ricochet Ridge…with Stone. Cue the tension, cause neither of them are happy about it. I really appreciated how Hanlon’s disability was portrayed. It is a part of who he is and was never shown as a weakness. He’s stubborn, determined, and fully committed to proving that he’s capable. But it doesn’t matter how many years have passed, Stone's protective instincts come right back. Along with some unexpected feelings. You could literally feel their connection building with every page, growing into something so much stronger, deeper, and impossible to ignore. And when things finally shift between them? They are all in. No hesitation. They both know what they want and nothing and no one will stop them. They were so gone for one another, and I was sooo here for it. I love a good possessive and obsessive couple. The…

Snowy fun

I really liked these two characters and how they aren't exactly what you expected. First, yes they are step brothers. But they are 4 years apart AND Stone left when he was 18. You can extrapolate that there wasn't even a crush between these two guys until this book. Hero worship, yes. Romantic crush, nah. Stone, kind of a hot shot on the mountain because he is part of the blasting crew who set charges to trigger avalanches when no one is on the mountain. He is obviously good looking and popular, but the outside doesn't necessarily match the inside. And Hanlon, babied his whole life because he has a mild case of cerebral palsy, but he also grew into a independent college senior who has a gym body, is confident, out and proud. The quiet kid grew into a confident adult and the confident kid turned into a quiet adult. There was animosity between the step brothers for different reasons. But once they pushed past that and they started feeling things, it got interesting. Again, role reversal of the stereotypical characters. And that made it so fun. It sucked that they basically had to stay in the closet. Because of family and because of work. But we all know that doesn't last forever. And I totally understand their parents feeling the way they do. But like good parents, they found acceptance in their hearts. The CP representation was done really well. Showed that there are different levels of CP and even when it isn't overtly obvious, there's still a lot that a person has…

I Felt The Avalanche

This is a 307-page Medium Paced, Forbidden Lovers, Stepbrothers, Enemies-to-Lovers, Disability Representation MM Romance. This is the third book in the Ricochet Ridge series, which takes place after the first two books on the same mountain but shows what goes into keeping the resort safe for everyone. Written in alternating chapters dual first person POV, this book will automatically make you feel the tension and angry between our MCs. Stone is the head of the department that helps those on the mountain in need of rescue and, also detonates avalanches in a controlled environment before they happen naturally. Hanlon, Stone’s younger stepbrother, shows up with little warning to complete an internship in avalanche studies. They haven’t seen each other in a while as Stone practically ran away from home when he was old enough and didn’t visit much. Their story was tough for me to read. I really struggled through it until about the 55% mark. I wasn’t feeling the vibes of their connection well in the beginning at all. It was very off putting to me, and honestly still don’t understand why. It wasn’t the stepbrother trope, I don’t have a problem with that taboo subject. I just can’t put my finger on it, which is irritating me to no end. The formula just wasn’t mixing for me. I can tell you that the author did such a good job with the disability of one of her MCs. As someone who is disabled, no matter what disability is used in a book, I always feel seen, even if I don’t have that…
