When tragedy strikes, the life Elias spent years carefully constructing unravels in a single heartbeat. Following the sudden death of his closest friends, he finds himself thrust into the role of guardian to their young niece, a responsibility he never anticipated and feels entirely unprepared to manage. Just as the weight of grief threatens to pull him under, he finds an anchor in Julian, a man from his past who once held his heart before life pulled them in different directions.
As they navigate the messy, heart-wrenching reality of healing a broken family, the lines between platonic support and long-dormant desire begin to blur. This is a poignant exploration of second chances, proving that love often finds its way back to us when we are at our most vulnerable. Through quiet moments of domesticity and the shared burden of loss, Elias and Julian must decide if they are brave enough to build a future out of the ruins of the past. Perfect for readers who cherish emotional depth and the slow-burn intimacy of friends-to-lovers, this story offers a tender look at what it truly means to belong to someone. It is a deeply moving testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

A Heartbreaking & Heartwarming Story💕
This was my first book by this author. Just liking the title and the summary caught my interest. I was not disappointed. I loved the flow of the story. The character build and of course the little wild bundle that made this book so much more. The three mains were executed perfectly. When you start with unbelievable pain and then need to proceed for someone bigger than you, the story can go off the rails. But this one stayed with it. I enjoyed it and recommend it. Now I need to check this writer and her other works out….

Good story
This is my third Rankin book. The first I liked, a lot, even with errors. The second, not at all. This one was a good story, with some story errors(wrong age from one chapter to another)and punctuation errors, but it was good. I'll keep reading her books. Just wish the sci-fi was good. That, and fantasy, are my favs.
