Authentic Sapphic Charm to Turn Off (and Turn On) & Relax
Such a CHARMING and PLEASURABLE sapphic read.
Fantasy isn't typically a genre I get lost in, but this story had me hooked. The 2 main characters are charming, romantic, and relatable. I found myself wanting to keep reading the book simply so I could 'hang' with these women and listen to their banter.
The spice is TOP TIER. It's explicit, yes, but never for the sake of 'shock.' In fact, all of the scenes make sense within the plot and the scenes truly work to either move the plot forward and/or reveal character arc. So the spice isn't just there simply to have spice. It has meaning. These scenes feel genuine and expertly demonstrate how consent is s*** (you know).
For fellow readers like myself who aren't typically into fantasy genre but want an excellent, authentic sapphic story, this book is absolutely worth reading. The "demons" and "paranormal" elements really aren't an overwhelming part of the plot or characters. (Think more along the lines of Twilight Saga - how there are vampires and werewolves, but the vast majority of the plot is realistic and doesn't require Tolkien-grade world analysis.)
This was the first book I've read from this author, and I just purchased another to start reading right away. I'm genuinely impressed with how Sabor wrote several excellent, and LONG, spicy scenes without them ever feeling cheap or immature.
The queerness is the story is so genuine and FELT rather than spelled out. Like, yeah, the whole theme revolves around Pride. So you'd…

Starting off with the notice that I received an advanced copy of this book so I've had time to read and re-read this book. However, my review is mine and mine alone and not influenced by that fact.
I LOVED this book almost as much as I loved the previous book. Reyna is delicious and Violet is sooooo relatable that at times I wanted to cry or scream at her because I have made similar mistakes. Normally I am not one for the miscommunication/not communicating trope leading to a break-up trope, but the times it happens in this story feels genuine and real because of Violet and her multitude of issues. Not only is she new to a D/s relationship, but she is also painfully unaware of her sexuality. Of course she isn't going to know how or be able to communicate clearly.
I love so much from this book. The contract and negotiations and renegotiations were great. While I am not a fan of a new sub allowing for anything a Domme might conjure up, Reyna doesn't seem the type to abuse that trust. And it didn't feel forced when Violet removed boundaries (as in, it wasn't done to please her Domme). I loved that Violet never came across as someone who had lost her agency. I adore the fact that this story didn't jump straight to them having a sexual relationship. Yeah, we knew it was heading there, but by waiting it allowed for trust to be built. The author made it clear several weeks had passed from when the D/s dynamic was started before anything remotely sexual took place. This helped…

Good, but I preferred the first book
I gave A Little Sin 4 stars. I found this book a little less interesting than Kiss Of Seduction, I think I just missed Natalya and Evie too much. I did really like Reyna, but I found Violet to be quite annoying at times. She’s too type A for me to relate to, although I liked her more by the end of the book. And I am less into the bdsm elements and sexual elements in this book. I know there will be lots of readers that will really enjoy this book. I did like having more Blake and Flea in this story, and as I’m listening to the audiobook of Kiss Of Seduction I believe timeline wise this book takes place around the same time as it, because Blake talks about Violet to Evie. The evil character in this was different, and creepy. Also can we slap Blake and Violets parents?
I’m enjoying the series so far, and love the free stories the author has up on their website. You can access them if you sign up for the newsletter and it’s absolutely worth it.
A Little Sin by Rawnie Sabor is easily one of my top five reads of the year! Sapphic romance with paranormal plot for the win!
There were so many moments where I had to put the book down and scream “I love it so much!” and squeeze my eReader to my chest. The depth of characters, the on-page angst and inner thoughts, the relatable dreams and fears and humanity to these characters is done to perfection!!
The book is THICK (thank goodness, because you’ll want to move right into the world) yet perfectly paced and impeccably edited. I found myself torn between rushing to see what happens next and savoring each moment to the fullest. Ahhhh the best kind of read!!
If you’ve read Gifts of Gold (earlier book in the same Court of Chains series) you’ll love the crossovers of Blake and Flea, though this novel can be read as a standalone (always better with more context and a little less spoilers though!).
The book’s third-person narrative switches perspectives between the leading ladies, which gives a rich, multi-faceted view of the story. This brilliantly balances character insight with big scene dynamics. It’s both intimate and keeps the pace moving too!
I can confidently say this book exceeded all my expectations. It’s a must-read for all readers, and a particular gem in the sapphic / queer / FF / gay / lesbian genre.
heartfelt, sexy, and intense
Rawnie Sabor has quickly become one of my favorite authors and A Little Sin does not disappoint! Incredibly sexy, yes, but also deeply meaningful and painfully sweet. This novel centers around the pain of living up to society's (your parents') expectations at the cost of your own happiness and the journey to finding out who you really are. Vi is desperate for a break from trying to live up to her mother's impossible expectations and Reyna is finally getting a chance to catch her breath after being on the run for 2 years, and the chemistry between them is intense and addictive. They are both painfully relatable and I finished the book in a single day, a big dumb grin on my face as the two main characters opened up to each other and eyes wide as the sparks flew. 5/5 and is now on my repeated reads shelf along with the other Court of Chains books!
