What a fantastic book! A Lifetime of Tomorrows is so heartfelt and the slow burn romance makes it feel real.
Harvey and Killian are both carrying so many emotional scars and watching them start to heal together is both heartbreaking and beautiful.
One thing about this author is she is never afraid to tackle hard subjects. And she does it in such a real way.
Maybe that's why her characters always feel so real and it is so easy to get attached to them. Having said that, some moments hit really hard and can be a little difficult to read. (Definitely keep tissues on hand) BUT it's absolutely worth it! Their relationship builds at a natural pace and feels genuine. Harvey and Killian truly balance one another out.
Alex J. Adams did an amazing job capturing real, raw feelings and turning it into something beautiful and meaningful. And the ending makes the entire ride feel absolutely worth it.
This is an intense read. The characters who are amazingly written, are raw, vulnerable and real. Nothing in this book feels held back or lighten for the readers experience. While Killian is easier to understand at first, he has horrible coping mechanisms and his pain is visible in his actions. Whereas, Harvey is more of a slow reveal and you find yourself trying to figure him out and reaching to understand him. I became very emotionally invested with both characters. These two have the burdens of their past to deal with which does bring them some common ground on understanding each other. It doesn’t make their relationship easy or fix their issues. This is a very slow burn love story as they are dealing with their issues and that is expected. I adore that this author didn’t shy away from the hard parts but wrote them with realism and this natural flow. I would be sure to read through the trigger warnings before jumping into reading this one. This is going to be an incredible series and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the characters from this book.

Harvey is a gay man, hating himself for being one. His self hatred has led him to many therapists & self harm. He sees Killian singing in a karaoke bar & feels a pull. Killian outside the bar starts chatting with him, Harvey not knowing what to do, runs. They meet again & become friends which leads to a complicated relationship. The relationship has problems & they part. Three years later they meet again. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was so good! They were literally perfect for eachother. I loved how understanding Killian was. Even with all his own demons he still wanted to support Harvey. I am going gla they for their HEA.
A must-read emotional roller coaster
Harvey is broken. He has been for a long time. Life has been hard.
Killian has his own demons he's facing.
It's a chance meet.
This story is broken, emotional, and so beautiful. It's about the hard times in life, how ppl deal with trauma, and fighting for a better tomorrow.
I'm usually a reader that can keep my own tense emotions out of the book myself. I've been through a lot myself so I know life can be extremely difficult. The story with Harvey and Killian had me on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. I say several stories have a well-earned HEA but, THIS HEA was so hard earned.
