Description

For Elias, Christmas in Mule Creek is less about festive cheer and more about surviving a staff revolt and the unwanted, sudden return of his absent parents. Back from New York and trying to build a normal life, Elias is hiding a complicated secret: he is hopelessly in love with Aidyn Christy, a grumpy, magnetic Irishman who also happens to be his late sister’s husband. While the town prepares for the holidays, Elias is forced to play the role of the dutiful son and brother-in-law, keeping his romance with Aidyn strictly under wraps. But the charade is fracturing. After years of orchestrating picture-perfect weddings for everyone else, Elias is desperate to stop pretending. He is tired of the secrecy and starving for a Christmas that feels real. As tensions rise and family expectations collide with his private desires, Elias must find a way to show the stubborn Aidyn that their love is worth more than a temporary sanctuary. Blending sharp wit with a slow-burn, emotional depth, this story follows two men fighting their own cynicism to discover if they can finally risk it all to create their own traditions. It is a heartfelt, festive tale about choosing love in the face of disaster.

It's finally going to resolve!

Back in Mule Creek, Garrett's story of his love for his late sister's husband Aidyn is finally being told. Garrett has always been in love with Aidyn but Aidyn finally found out and returned his love, just not wanting anyone to know yet. Garrett gives Aidyn an advent calendar and a kiss everyday until Christmas. With the secrecy and work obligations, it's awful and stressing their love - it's been years. Now, Garrett's awful parents are there, too and it's all going to come to a head. Finally!! I received a copy of this and this is my voluntary opinion.

Advent Kisses

27 Kisses by D. K. Sutton is A Wedding Disasters Holiday Novella. I suggest that you read Brother of the Bride before this one as that is the first part of these men’s complicated story, although the main things that happened to them are slowly revealed in this one. This is about two men who have loved each other in secret for 7 years before they finally come out and are able to finally be together. Aidyn Christy is from Ireland and runs the diner in Mule Creek, Missouri. He was married to Emily and moved there to be close to her family and they also had now 16 year old daughter, Lanie. But Emily was killed in a car accident 10 years ago and remains heavily on everyone’s mind. Garrett Bishop is her brother and he fell in love with Aidyn the first time he met him in Ireland, but he knew nothing could ever happen from that so he left and found a job in New York where he rarely returned home, which in the end hurt him because he didn’t have much time with Emily or his other sister Jane who was also having problems. After Emily died he reconnected with Aidyn and it wasn’t long before Aidyn fell in love with him. They somehow made this work for 7 years and then Garrett moved back to Mule Creek and created Bishop Fields, a very popular event venue especially for quirky weddings. He hired Natalie to be his helper as well as Jonah as he was a workaholic and wanted everything to be just right. Because of this he and Aidyn were having trouble finding time to be together and this was…

I loved how this turned out!!!

OMG Aidyn and Garrett finally get their fully happy ending! 7 years later! Of course it would come during the season Garrett hates most. He has his reasons but I enjoyed seeing him work through them and realize there is good at the holidays too. Poor Aidyn. He is all tied up in knots and his fear of losing those he loves has him crippled with indecision and yet more fear. I loved how it was Jane and Lanie who helped them both work through it although I am still not a fan of Garrett and Jane’s parents, especially their mother. No one deserves it more than these two. They have been through so much.

Connected by Grief

I needed this extra Garrett and Aidyn experience! They both had difficulty coming to terms with how such a big loss had brought them so much together. This is what I loved the most about these two. It was a real and honest struggle that still had just the right amount of lightness, love and humor.
